Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Afternoon all!
Not much here except a bunch of PO'd hens. The won't go into their run since the snow storm brought back the "Tunnel of Terror".
roll.png

So they are sitting there bored out of their little hen brains. I did get an Ameruacana egg yesterday though. First one in months but I'm not sure if its Valerie or the new pullet.

Other then that, still digging out the snow in places....

DH took me to Cracker Barrel for my birthday lunch....Janesville was a nighmare....makes me want to stay put until after the holidays.
DH let me buy a neat little .22 rifle for my birthday. I got a Henry firearms catalog a few months back and saw a neat little survivalist model and started to drool. The barrel, receiver, and magazines break down and fit into the stock. They were originally made by Armalight for the airmen to have a gun in case they had to eject.

Thanks for the B-Day wishes Dr.H!!!

TO-Ohhh the adventures you have....

Well, gonna thaw out some more...
Later
Happy late B-day, must have missed it...... glad to hear you had a good one!

just got back from an egg delivery.. dropped off some food for the party tomorrow night, and went to the post office..

I did brave the cold and put the bucket on Ollie,, Now I am going to have to make a little more room to fit him into the garage.. I need about 6 more inches if I want to close the door.. I really hesitated writing that last sentence..

found some royal palm feathers and bones in the yard.. looks like an old kill.. dogs prolly dragged it off the compost pile..

still waiting for BF4 and her funny story..

.......jimjustpatientlywaiting............

Winter Evening To All...Happy Birthday MLH! Congrats on your new gun...let's see that must make you 40ty sumpthin. Still just a kid....best years of your life...those 40tys, for me anyway.

Glad to hear L is on the mend Doc. I fired up at midnite and again at 5am....nice and toasty when I crawled out at 7am.

Went to Ruby's Pantry today....I think they shared food with like 200 hungry folks. Couple boxes of food....case of greek yogurt, sweet potato fries, boneless skinless chicken thighs, frozen rhodes wheat buns, sauerkraut, potatoes, hot cereal, orange juice, fresh bakery buns and bread, chicken broth, butterscotch chips galic toast, snack crackers, variety of different snacks and cheese sauce, bottled water etc.... Christians sharing food....

I should go check the mail before I take my boots off for the day....prolly let it fester til morning, it's cold and dark out there.

You can add me to the list of people who hate dusting. I'd rather scrub the floors than dust.

DrH, I'm so glad L is getting better too. I hope her intestinal issues subside for her now.

Happy belated birthday, MLH! Congrats on the 22!

Jim, glad you got the bucket hooked up & could clear the snow. Loved your comment on hesitating!

Luckily for you, Bf4 has been MIA. I hope Halden is doing ok.

Carol, glad you got the power back on. I agree with Ski, this is the worst time of year to be without. Brrr!

Only 1 rooster braved the elements to venture outside today. At least the sun was shining & the wind died down. That was pretty wicked. We got more snow down here than I thought, but it was nothing compared to most of you. We had about 3 inches of rain before it finally turned to sleet then snow. I'm ready for spring.

Back to cleaning!

Hello---yes I am procrastinating again about going outside...so starts the winter season. If there is ONE thing I am very good at it's procrastination!
I am having a glass of wine after dinner...which was spectacular (pictured below of course!)

Salad, Lamb chops, Oriental veggies/spinach and sweet potatoes with lime and cilantro. OMG was it GOOD!
So now DH is making HM Bailey's to share at his brother's on Christmas Eve. I am making some GF fudge and some "Marge Salad" (peach yogurt, peach jello and peach chunks this time) So named by a client that I got the recipe from!

ODrH--I have a musky/Pekin cross here too. He is the neatest duck but from what I have read that cross is sterile? I have named him "Mule." DO you have a different opinion? Oh yeah--PM sent your way.

Congrats on getting another year behind you MLH! Way to go! Glad you got just what you wanted for your day too. SO how many guns do you have now?
Good job on that tractor Jim! ANd great job with your procrastination too!
Can you believe it??? Monday night football, Saturday edition? ***? Cant get away from it for a minute...wait--I guess I could go out and do chores!

Yeah I guess I will do that...I think I need to blanket Commander tonight. Dont want him to lose the little bit of weight I got on him from being cold for sure! He has his winter coat on now anyway.

Oh yeah...a couple pics of the snow...and one of my cat cuddling CLoe, MXM's daughter.

The plastic that WAS stapled on the North side of the barn is now handily wrapped around the electrical supply cable to the barn...DAM^ storm! When is the next time I will have a lift here to replace that huh? Ticks me off; at least it kept most of the snow off of my hay for THIS storm.

OK< OK, I have to head out now for sure...I hope I can find my headlight! Have a good rest of the night! TerriOoutofwineandtimeforwork

Awwwww.............. your kitty looks like Ramses, except for the white paws.

Beautiful pics, Terri! And you can come cook dinner here any time you wish, my fellow procrastinator!

great picks TerriO

that roo you want to borrow made a nussence of himself today

I brought out treats and put them outside so the birds would have to come out to get them. He came to the doorway and looked around and decided up was the way to go. Straight up to the roof of the coop. He was walking back and forth along the peak trying to decide whether to come down on the plowed side or back in the snowy run. My yellow Lab really really wanted him to pick the plowed side. I poked him with a stick til he went into the snow. He really seemed insulted by the snow on his feet.

Joe,

Were you seeking mille fluer wyandotts? OR d'uccle??

TO - haven't read to hear about their fertility, but would assume them to be sterile. Cool looking critters, though. :)

Thanks for the PM, can't wait to try my hand at Muscovy duck incubation, been reading tons. Lordy, don't know if I'll be able to stand myself clucking over those eggs for a whole month...
