Good morning! (and Merry Christmas once again!) Kids are still sleeping...you can tell I have all 20 somethings now for sure. I imagine all of you with little ones are well into the fracas by now! It does get much calmer for sure.
Tommy is crowing up a storm so perhaps they will be awake soon. My son put together the monkey bread and thought that the bag of bread dough held 20 pieces that the recipe calls for...it is well over the pan this morning so the chickens got a bit of dough. I hope they dont get stuck in it like last time! (that was a MESS)
Well I guess I will see what else is going on....Have a fantastic day everyone! TerriOhearingrumblesfromthesecondfloor
The boys are still in bed as they were up very late last night, but should be getting up any time now and the Christmas opening spree can commense. LOL
Got the chix all taken care of and threw them a nice Christmas buffet out there, so they should be happy. The dogs are tearing around in the snow currently and it's a beautiful sunny day.
Yes the kids revere up at 6 ish...still trying to gt fully awake after all the crazys. Kids are in heaven with fun stuff. More to come this afternoon.
Got the coolest rooster art...will take a picture later..
Merry Christmas everyone!
I just got,, coffee is brewing.. dogs are outside.. Annie is on her way home..
that is my life in a nutshell..
Annie announced that she now has 49 goose eggs to blow out.. I think I will bring the compressor in and rig up something..
sounds coming from upstairs,, she is home..
.......jimnotfeelingveryambitioustoday..........
eta..
I am back.. cuppa'd up..
was talking to Annie about blowing out the goose eggs.. I was wondering if anybody here has a system for that many eggs..?? I get dizzy after one or two..
I was thinking of using some sort of large syringe to suck the eggs out.. anybody ?? I am going on line to look for such a tool..
May you all have a blessed day with family and remember the reason for the season. We did stockings and the boys had a few gifts to open this morning. I had a bottle of Three Lakes wine in my stocking.
That will go good with Christmas cookies later.
BL4, yes the soap went good - FIL said he liked the smell. Literally 4 seconds after my sis walked in the door with it I could smell it. Were that vanilla I would have keep it.
Gonna go play in the snow later - we have new sleds to break in!
I am back and very full from breakfast...I have pics of course! I took a bunch but I will limit my sharing...LOL!
Tommy enjoying his breakfast.
The breakfast for Gen. Pop. Pullapart cinnamon rolls, oranges and spinach strata.
The GF version of the strata and a GF cinnamon roll.
Crazy kids with "orange grins."
Close-up of the strata...really looked delicious! I didnt put provolone in mine--shoulda.
THe kids are playing the new Halo game. They have the tv on really loud. I might have to head to the barn for some peace and quiet! Or maybe upstairs for a nap? You wouldnt think I would feel so tired after all the coffee I drank!
Hope all are having fun at your houses too! TerriO
nice laid back day here.. Annie is upstairs watching some tear jerker Christmas story..
I am starting to draw some sketches of the bil's addition.. I have a semi passive type heating system that I have always wanted to try out.. see if I can talk him into using it.. It is very condusive for a crawl space type foundation.. things have to be air tight for it to work, but I have that figured out..
Amy, we have one of those large turkey basters .. I haven't tried it yet for goose eggs.. goose eggs are quite thick viscosity wise.. sort of like half set jello.. Or a real good luggie..
talked ot everybody on the phone today.. No company expected here..
we transferred the cluck and her 4 broodies to the guinea pen.. put them into the brooder coop in there .. she has a tendency to spend her nights under the deck.. we just turned all the young turkeys loose again, too.. hopefully they will not revert to sleeping in the maple tree above the deck..
either way, I elimenated two extra feeding stations..
I put a heater into the guinea pen last night.. now both coops are toasty warm ..
I put fresh straw into both coops today, too.. the birds really like to scratch through it..
The power strip I had the heaters plugged into popped the safety switch again..... so I eliminated it and plugged the big heater directly into the cord.. I will give it until tomorrow and then add the new oil.. Ollie will be happy about that..
When I empty eggs out I use a straw from a juice box stick it in the hole and blow on the straw. You only need a hole in one end and the air displaces the egg matter to force it out. The farther in you stick it, the better it works(here we go).
That being said I am definately trying the baby snot sucker thing next time..We have 2 kids and at least 6 of those booger do-hickeys.
