Bf4me hope things go well for Halden!!!!!!! Oton very neat markings on your new addition! Cindy we just finished off the last of the best tater soup I ever ate. Hope L remembers what she did different this time! Turned the channel late in the Indy game and didn't even watch the other one. Starting to get that I'm bored but don't want to do nothing feeling. I hate that!

good morning,, woke up quite awhile ago, just didn't want to get up that early..

is that recipe for the stuff ("cream") you put into coffee ?? I like that stuff,, we have it every once in awhile at the card game.. how long does it keep ? or do you have to use it up fast..?

Thanks for the compliments on the dog coop .. No, no dogs use it yet.. I still have to put some bedding into it.. and so far, no chickens have claimed it for their own , either..

speaking of chickens.. the egg production went up to 31 yesterday.. I think it is partly due to giving them water in the coop for overnight..

speaking of water,, I did re-enforce the large metal hanging waterer yesterday.. I had it in the coop, and it ran out of water so fast, that now I have it in the sink checking for leaks.. I don't think there are any major ones,, so the birds must really be thirsty..

I was planning on "dressing" Ollie this week, but I will be laid up with this eye thingy for about 3 days..

Brent, I hope your cloudy eye is just the after affects of the eye surgery.. I had that after my cateract surgery,, it is no big deal,, they just clean the film away and it doesn't come back..

I made the coffee in our new pot this am.. next time I should put more grounds in there.. It is a 14 cup dealy, and I am still in the 10 cup mode.. I don't like this new pot,, no matter how you pour,, it dribbles onto the counter.. ya pay big money, and junk is what you get.. uneffinbelievable..

Ya, Cind, gotta age soups and stews for a day..

I like beans,, but bean brownies ?? I am glad I am not haltered with GF..

Good morning--nice and sunny here today and I have the day "off!"

Actually, due to my client's hospitalization I have the whole week off!!!

x2!
DrH--I thought that was funny in the recipe too! Lots of people worry about the raw egg in that recipe but as long as I have my own I dont worry at all! And yes Jim, that is the stuff you CAN put in to coffee...I much rather drink it straight up, maybe with an ice cube or poured over ice cream!

Now that is good stuff! This time DH used my new immersion blender to blend the eggs in and it was better that last year. Before I am not sure if he did it in the food processor or the blender or just not thoroughly enough, but we would find those egg string thingies in it.

Just thinking about that about makes me gag! You dont have to worry about storing it Jim...it lasts about 3 days here! Last time he made a quadruple batch that we shared on Christmas eve. I took the last little bit to my client the next Friday! Yeah, it's really good! I think we have some whiskey around here somewhere....

Cind I just had to comment about you making potato soup at 3:30 AM!!! Doesnt that wake up the fam? Like the smell of cooking? When I used to make fresh bread in the machine overnight it always woke me up early with the baking smell...(gosh I miss that) If DS gets home late(early) and he decides to make pizza I always go on high alert. Maybe your fam is so used to your puttering in the wee hours that they dont waken? Amazing I say! So do they eat it for breakfast or do you heat it up for dinner the next day?

BigFam glad that the little guy didnt get really sick from the antibiotic! Which one was it? Did he have an ear infection?
Speaking of infections...I have a cat that seems to have chronic upper respiratory problems. He has been on antibioticsx10 I swear. Now we are trying this Lysine stuff to see if it helps him fight it off. (really $$$ in the cat form) Do any of you herbalists have any ideas what I could make to help him? He is normal in every way except for his sneezing and snotty nose all the time! THanks!

Good luck at the eye doc Jim--I hope we get to see/hear "Seeing Eye Annie" again! Yeah, and what about "seeing Eye Susie?" We havent heard from her either lately...not that I want you to have any trouble seeing Bigz...but I rather liked hearing from your better half!

Where has MLH gone to? Lots of others we havent heard from either! Guess I'd better get that CHickenstock thread up...we need to start planning. Now I just have to look at the calendar and see what weekend it is happening....

Judge, Yeah..got to love found eggs!

BF4, Glad you caught that allergic reaction..

TerriO Speaking of allergies, The cat might be reacting to things in the house it is allergic to..I hear they have many allergies.

Looking forward to seeing Olly with a new coat

Sorry for all the loss of ducks and chickens. I might have a hard time killing a fox too. But I would not feed one either. Might be time for an LGD

Hey everyone...sorry for all the losses. Makes me sad...

cant wait for the warmer weather later this week. Might melt some snow so I can open the people door for the coop more than half way!
Birds are doing good but still only 2-4 eggs a day with 15 birds. grr.
Spending time today with my mother in law to attempt a simple chair cover upholstery for my kitchen chairs. Bought some clearanced table clothes that we are going to use as a substitute until my kids are a little older. The chairs are about 15 years old and looking dirty and worn. Kids are still messy so I dont want to buy new ones unless I have to. She might say this fabric is too thin, so we will see. But wanted something bright and cheery in my kitchen. So that is where I am off to today!

Oh keep meaning to post this because if you are a collector..you know who you are... you will love these. My sil got me one for christmas and I love it. Not a collector normally but might have to get them for the tops of my kitchen cabinets! She gave the Rose-ter...

Hi Teri O... sounds like your kitty might just have allergies ;-) sounds kinda crazy, I know, but if he is normal otherwise, could be true!

Thanks--I thought about allergies too. He is so miserable some times! The vet is now saying a virus that comes and goes. I forgot the name.
Thanks for showing me something ELSE I could collect Kristi. NOT! I am trying to rid myself of collections...ok, not very hard though.

Check out my new siggy! Feel free to copy the Chickenstock addy to yours too so all of BYC will know that the Chickenfolk of WI are getting together again!

Terri, sounds like you cat has one of those feline herpes viruses (very easy for cats to catch before vaccination age). I stumbled onto a cat forum looking for an answer for you..... the responses are fairly recent (like Dec. 2012) so I believe the info provided would be helpful. Also, if it is possible, ask the vet to prescribe though your local pharmac. It is a lot cheaper if they will do that for you. I had to for Squirrel (and I bet the Techs had a laugh when they saw the patient name of 'Squirrel'......) for one of the medications he was on.

Good luck!

Yes that is what she said! Thanks for reminding me of it. Could you forward the link to the forum for me? I am so happy we have "detectives" in our group! Let's see we have the scientific detective (BL4 you must now put SD after your name at all times) and we have several Craig's list detectives that must do the same with CLD after their siggies!
