Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Sorry I can't help with breed guesses..if they are hatchery they could be any feather footed bantam breed. The body is the same style for the most part. The color and feathering is the only thing different.

If I had to guess...Silkie and Cochin

Denise, if you want lavenders our even black split orpingtons to hatch for the Easter hatch, I should have some available. I replaced my rooster, and sold most of my hens from last year, so there would only be a slight chance of getting one related to Amery. But then you will have extra roosters to rehome or butcher.

Nas-T drive home tonight! First snow, then sleet then freezing rain..... glad I did not have to drive in the rain for too long.

Trying to coax the one cat into eating more than a few teaspoons at a time...... it is a little difficult to find new things he might find palatable (you know how picky cats can be!). I have gotten him beef liver, sardines, canned cat food...... tonight I gave him some of the beef roast we had for dinner. He seemed to enjoy that. I hate the thought of having to put another cat down when it has not even been a year since we put the first one down......

Another night of no sleep! I was freezing! Took me forever to finally get warm enough where I was comfortable. I hope tonight is a little different. Oh yes DrH, I think my DH cut at least 3 cords worth the night before.

Anyhoo. Nothing else to say this way. Just more snow to look forward to.

Ooohhhh...that sounds doable. Let me know when you have themmm...cost...shipping...or what I need to do to meet up. Amery is the best! Love that bird.

Now I have to get the bator from the boss. And hopefully will get hens. :)

Here's to drowning in babies! Of course by easter the the ones I have will be almost 2 months old....

I am going to be working on a packaging system for shipping eggs.. I have to get to Menard's first for supplies..

we have a couple of inches of new snow here.. IDK if it has stopped yet..

going to go pick up 20 more drying racks on Sat morning.. will use them for garden fence.. I have not decided if I am going to fence in the garden,, or just make a barrier fence between the yard and garden..

Cind, imagine stepping inside & having someone start up a chain saw. Same general reaction.

I saw DH enter the carport, then all I saw was feathers, dust, straw & woodchips flying.

The next time I need to clean it out & don't want them all underfoot, er...., tire, I guess I know what to wear, hey? At least they all got some fresh air for a little while.

Delisha, so sorry to hear about the chick.

Mom should take the new one when it hatches. Just stick it under or behind her when she is distracted. Whistle, whistle..........

Kristi, I wouldn't breed that silkie roo if he is mean. But that is just me.

Terri, I almost doused the screen with your "love to give people sh!t" comment!

Don't we know it!

So Bigfam gave you a dirty incubator??????? Heather! What's up with that???? All part of your master plan?

Bl4, have you tried liver sausage? That was one thing I could always get Ramses to eat. He loved hot dogs too. I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight. I get that pretty often where I'm so cold I can't fall asleep for hours. It's the worst.

Glad you got home safe. Sounds like tomorrow won't be any better weatherwise. Yuck!

I could set some eggs for an Easter hatch. Hopefully the new pullets will be in full swing by then. Is it setting eggs on Easter or hatching for Easter?

Hi everyone! I'm getting bummed by all of you doing the Easter hatch. I am getting my eggs on February 17, and I don't think I should hatch anymore. I'm actually getting a little worried about where I am going to keep them all. Good thing spring is coming. They spend most of their time free ranging then. Maybe I'll have to talk DH into building me another coop? A guy in town ordered 20 chicks but doesn't want them all, so he offered to give me the rest. Boy was I tempted...
Chicks are doing great, and the chickens too. Not much new.
Went for a second opinion today and wound up more confused then when I went in. He says I don't have fibro or CDDD, but I have carpal tunnel What!?!?!?!?! Ugh- maybe I'll have to get a third opinion and take the best out of 3. So sickening.
Hope you all stay safe in the snow.
