Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hello all...dog agility training was fun! I think I will sign up and try it for 6 weeks and go from there. I have got to get my dog Magic into something; she is driving us crazy since her "sister" Valentine passed away! I hope this works.

I am glad that the snow is supposed to be less than predicted around here...I have had terrible thoughts about no one coming to butcher and me having to do it all myself; and then having to eat this entire pot of chili that I made on top of it!

Well, I am totally exhausted so I do believe I will hit the hay. Big day coming up tomorrow for sure! Nighties! TerriOreallyafraidthatshewilldreamaboutbutcheringchickensandwhoknowswherethatwillgo?

Hey Bigfam, you definitely need a couple of these to play with your goats!

I'm not Frenchie. I want nothing to do with piggies...

Yep, I dug out the incubator for Terri not even looking in it. But what's the big deal? It doesn't smell and its been there since the end of October. Just dried up stuff. And Terri could just boil some vinegar and dump it in there. Nice and clean, no bleach needed.

And I'm selling lots of the chicks I'm getting from Easter hatch. And CC it's set on march 9 with hatch the day before Easter

I did put that chick in with mom last night. I will be checking later this morning to see how everyone is doing. Thanks CC

I am in lock down and sitting on hands now. I will check humidity later this morning and than just wait. The last three days take longer than the first 18.

JJ..glad you are joining too!!

Common people..we need more Wisconsinites in!!

Happy anniversary DrH!

My current hatch is finished. I set 5 white Orps and 3 BBS Orps. Two of the BBS were clear and the 3rd had a crack and got stinky so was pulled early. Four of the 5 white hatched but one was all goopy and it never finished absorbing the yolk or closed up, had intestines coming out so I had to cull that one. Two popped right out and look great and the third seems a little weak. The goopy one really messed up the hatcher, I think the last weak one got some of that stuff all over him. He wasn't fluffing up at all because junk was stuck on him, dry and crusty. So he got a nice warm bath and blow dry this morning before popping him in the brooder with the other two. Keeping my fingers crossed that he does well now.

Now I need to get that stinky hatcher cleaned up. Yucky!!

The incubator has the Penedesceca eggs in it, going on day 7 now. Will see what they look like later today.

good AM ,

about 4 inches to plow today.. I don't like the threat of freezing rain, though.. maybe I will put off plowing until after the rain..

I put four Little Giants on Craig's list for $75.oo/each.. turners and fans in all of them.. I had one hit so far, but she dropped off after I sent my phone number to her..

I have not gone outside yet..

the two dogs came home with blood all over their faces,, and they dragged home a leg of a deer. I imagine a deer either got hit be a car, or wounded and died during the gun season.. It is funny (strange) that the coyotes haven't cleaned up on it yet..

nothing new happening around here..

did a few sketches of what I want to plant in the garden.. going to reduse the size of it this year.. each year too much goes to waste when I over plant.. I will plant corn aplenty, though.. Annie served up some canned corn from the store one day.. I could not eat it..WTH do they put in those cans,, field corn ??

Happy Anniversary, have a great one!!

Weather is on the slippery side right now- have a rain/sleet mix going on and then supose to change to snow with 2-3 inches- dogs didn't want to stay outside to long this am! Our cocker isn't a big fan of the snow but never stays on the "paths" to go outside and ends up going through the deep snow

We are at day 13 of our 2nd hatch(due Feb 15th)- 82 eggs in our bator- haven't candle yet so not sure which ones are doing anything- with the automatic turners, it's so easy to put them in and let it go.

We have baby bunnies! DD has 3 Cali does for 4-H and 2 of them had their babies; 1 doe has a litter of 8(yesterday) and 1 doe has a litter of at least 1(couldn't tell if there were more) today, not sure if the 3rd doe has her litter yet, she builds a super nest so it's hard to tell.

Managed to get this picture yesterday before the baby snuggled into the back area:

Our peacock is started to grow his tail- caught this picture of him the other day: our pair will be 2 years old this summer

Looks like we just changed over to snow- seems to be coming down at a good rate!

Back to the paperwork, have a good one!
