Dan looks like your ready for Easter. Jim glad the dog took over it's house must get crowded in there. Sorry for the short responses. Didn't get back home until 4 am did a trip to Appleton. Dad's back in the hospital and not doing very well.

Good morning all. Had a neat thing happen this morning. Well- not exactly neat, but surprised me even though I should have known... So- I had put chopped straw/canary grass in the plastic tub for the chicks. I set the waterer on top of an upside down tupperware container because they were getting straw in the water and I wanted to raise it up. Today when I took out the waterer and tupperware so the straw could be changed, the straw had sprouted! pluck out the little sprouts and gave it to the chicks. Make me want to do something so I can get the chicks/chickens some green stuff. I know they miss it!!

Only 4 1/2 hours at work today!

It is so NICE to be home with the kiddos before lunch! And what a beautiful day too! I am thinking I might even take the girls out to the Mall (

)

I opened up the curtains in the bedroom so the cats could catch some rays..... they are quite happy with this arrangement.

BigFam, you will adjust. It is surprising how using your brain learning new things can make a person so bone tired. I remember starting this job and being so dead tired in those first few weeks...... and now I think whatever made me so tired?????

Now I am tired..... maybe a quick nap is in order.....

Boy when you miss a few days, you miss a lot. Sorry to hear about all the barn fires and all the tragic events. Teaches each fouls to count our blessings and be gratefull for what we have each day.
I am in the sunny west today and for he next week. Boy does the sun feel amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Meanwhile, I hear it is -5 at home :-(...the teenager is taking care of the chickens......sigh...
On the up side, the teenager seems to have had an epiphany in life and the last week or so has been fab!! Going to enjoy this break and will race, yield for the next dramatic event!!! Lol
Keep warm everyone,!!!!!

Good freezy pm everyone

Sorry about your dad Dr H. congrats to all the hatches and condolences for all the losses. Too much going on for individual responses after reading 3 pages of "catch up".

Another coop fire up here. Not positive but I think I know the guy that had this one. Shed/coop a total loss along with 4 hens. Thankfully it was far enough from the house/garage that no other buildings were lost. When are people going to learn to stop using brooder lamps in the coops? It's like propping a loaded shotgun against the wall. Sooner or later.................................... besides, there are just too many good alternatives out there if you need/want to add heat for your girls. I can prove with my light bill that I can run my radiant oil heater that I picked up for under $50 for less than the cost (and a whle lot less risk) of a brooder lamp. SSSSSCCCRREEEEEECCCHHH!!!!!! (Me dragging away my soapbox now)

Judge I know I really miss it !!! Vicki the noodles sounds so good I have not had homemade noodles for 30 years-----off to the cook book.

Good evening! Man, it is chilly out there. I glad thae I did chores right away when I got home from Milwaukee. I ate some dinner of mashed potatoes and fried eggs while I caught up on all the reading here!
Glad everyone is keeping warm. Best wishes to your Dad DrH. I hope he makes a quick turn around. Glad the job is going OK BigFam. I dread the day that I go to work in Ocon. and am gone all day. I dont know how people do it either. I know if I was working full time I would not be able to have the amount of critters that I have for sure! Just outside is an hour in the morning! The earlier daylight cannot come quick enough for me...I hate doing morning chores in the dark!
NOw that my dinner is gone I cant remember what all I was going to comment on, and suddenly I am very tired too. I hear ya on the sleep issue Judge. I woke up last night when the kids got back from the hockey game at 11:30 and laid there for 2 1/2 hours before I went back to sleep! I kept thinking that I should just get up and DO something...but I couldnt seem to summon the energy to actually move. Well, I should be tired enough to sleep tonight.

I think I will make some popcorn and watch a movie...home all alone for the weekend...if only I could farm out the dogs so I dont get woken up by barking at 6:22AM! (yes every morning like clockwork!)
Good night--TerriOMMMMMpopcorn!

Chilly Evening To Everyone....down to 11 above already. To cold for a sreak around the house tonight. I'll settle for watching Nascar tonight

Nope you didn't chase me away Cind....had the FFF and watched the tube (blue bloods) then the news and then to tired to post.

Open house at the Wisconsin Bowhunters Museun today. Wi was the first state to have a bowhunting season and the heritage runs really deep and quite interesting if you like all the old stuff and collections.

Hope your Dad is feeling better Doc. Prayers sent his way...

I think I would have a stroke, if i had to work full time. It's not for everyone...especially the elder like myself.

Glad you kitty is eating bl4...they don't last long without nutrition for extended periods ( i know you know that) just sayin.

Bigfam, you and Adam can pool your checks together to make one big one!

Go Junior, right CC.... bigz

Well turkeys are done hatching, not a very good hatch, only 11 out of 24 but 4 of the 24 were duds at lockdown. So 50% isnt terrible but not to my liking either. On another note, my Bantam Standard showed up in the mail and I will be reading that for the next couple of nights.

The local eating joint/ sports bar Rookies is going to make me beef wellington on wednesday for my birthday and also have it on the menu for a lunch and dinner special. If you are ever heading hwy 14 west of Madison you should stop at Rookies and sit a spell! If you tell them I sent you that is you own risk!

I have to brag a little about something most of you dont care about...The grading of the fur I caught this year came back today and will be auctioned on Wednesday. Well out of 360,000 muskrats offered 1 of mine made the very highest grade also called the "top lot" there were only 110 muskrats in this lot. It is a pretty big deal to get skins in these lots for different animals.

Time to fall asleep with my standard,
Joe
