Bl4 sounds like a lot garden, now where to put it? Pretty sad deal about the stolen bird. I can see locked cages from now on. Can tell spring is comin. Watched roosters on ice yesterday. Babykins and Sparkey were havin it out in the drive way. Slipin and slidin in the mud, the blood, and the beer. Sparkey would run for the coop with Babykins in hot pursuit and Peatwo would kick em out! Long list today.

19 eggs out of 21 hens on Friday!!! And my Mickey (Mommas girl) laid the cutest lil banty egg ever!!! with no added light.
Question: I sprout sunflower seeds but am wondering how far you let them sprout? I usually fed them in 3-4 days when they white sprout just started coming out. The other day left them till there were actual green lil leaves coming out-now wondering which is the right way or does it matter?

Came home yesterday to find my dominant roos wattles bleeding and a spot on comb. When watching them, the sub roo still keeps away from dom roo. However, when dom roo is breeding a hen, sub roo is going after dom roo. Sure hope they figure this out before any more injuries!!!

I'll give them a few days and start collecting eggs for a test hatch, He's covering 7 birds hope the keeps it up

angie, green is good with BOSS I think letting the cot leaves show and maybe 1-2" growth would be purrfect

Kitty is looking pretty rough today. I need to get him some IV fluids and get some liquids into him. He is dehydrated right now, and on top of that still tossing his cookies.

Not a good sign. Hopefully to vet will get back to me today with the bloodwork results.

The oldest DD's BF brought home a nice surprise; he was up ice fishing in Bay De Noc and caught a nice sized mudpuppy.

Off to the UW.

Good morning--just a quick post for me...BL4 what did you do with a mudpuppy? Can you eat them? When I was a kid I always wanted to see one in real life...guess I still do! LOL.

I hit the hay very early last night...I think 7 o'clock! Got up this morning at 8! Something is going on but I dont know what it is...
Kids will be home today from Chicago...then Dh and son are heading to Nebraska. The truck is in the shop there getting fixed--great, another bill!

Looks to be a nice day out there...guess I better go and see just how nice it is...calling you JJ--forgot the size hole I need to drill into the tree....

Good morning everyone..Kicked out the NYD chicks. They seem to love the open spaces for the few minutes I let them out. The snow freaked them out bit. I will try it again later. They need that sun. Mom had the chicks out for little bit this morning too. I wish I had had my camera. She was one attacking nasty piece of work. Made a wide path for her charges to make it out. They went out, and they went back in. Funny stuff.

Everyone seems to have a long day scheduled and I do too. I have my second interview tomorrow and my stomach is queasy.


Easter hatch in 20 days...2 weeks to start hording eggs to fill those bators!!

How about this weather today??? I was able to let the girls out early for the first time in weeks. Of course I don't know if they will venture further than their sauna (aka greenhouse) but at least I can open it up and get them some fresh air.

Joe-Nice job on the Muskrat hide. What is a ave. price on rats these days? BBP- Too bad some people do not have any common sense. Vicki-I always thought a "broiler" was based on size and age not really sex. For me "broilers" are young cockrels culled just before or at maturity. However, I never order meat ckns. If I did I would order birds based on price and feed conversion. Bl4- you might need to till up an acre for all those seeds.Bigz weeding and snow removal are just thank-less jobs. CC- keep planting those Ground cherries they will grow--I love them. Kristi- when my son was in wrestling it was 45min. of sitting/waiting for me per 1 min. on the mat for him at some of those big meets. Dr.H your Dad must be feeling better if he does not want company.....I hope so. Angie- Nice egg ratio

Delisha- how sweet! I wish the weather would warm up some more. I can't wait to let my chicks out. I am still hoping for Friday. They stink!!!
So- what is BOSS? I've seen you guys talking about it, but I don't know what it is?
The chicks are doing great- very busy digging in the straw. I threw some dry oatmeal in there for them and it was hilarious. All that scratching tires them out.
Chickens are still on strike. No eggs again.... I think its been like 10days now.
Took the kids for a walk in the woods yesterday. Thinking of buying a 40acre parcel of woods. We want it for wood for the furnace and hunting. My dad is going to come out and take a look and see if he thinks its worth it before we put in an offer. Of course than that means another year with no garage...
