Yes the new glarus brewery is gorgeous and come summer, they have a trolley to take people from downtown NG up to the brewery for free. Needless to say the moms group often goes up, gets a sampler or two and lets the kids run around. I am the one yelling at my son to not try to jump off the hill...

Well sitting here with the disused family. Dog is the only healthy one here. All of us colds and flu symptoms. Trying to see if dd is well enough to go to a birthday party today. She is the healthiest of us with only a drippy nose. Might have to make a big pot of chicken soup later. Was hoping to eat the roasted chicken first and then make soup. Still might and then put the chicken pieces in th fridge for later. And use the bones and one Brest for soup.

The $1000 cat is doing well. He was a little peeved we attacked him at 5 AM to give him his feeding, but I am not going to have the oldest kids do that unsupervised quite yet. He gives you the evil eye now, which is really nice to see that he is feeling a bit feisty. He had a BM finally yesterday and the kids thought is was a stitch to see mom get so excited about that...... :) I had to explain that it was a good sign that his systems were getting back to normal.

All of you have a good time at the swaps today!!!!!!

Hope you all find what your looking for at the swap!!! Sounds like nobody's selling tho lol if your all anything like me, that's not a surprise :) babylady, happy the cats good!!!! Always a hard situation.

good A M

Dan, TerriO mentioned the other day that she was not taking or buying,, but she was taking a dog crate along,,,,,just in case,,,,

UnkaD, what are you doing up so early ?

It is snowing ever so lightly here.. but the radar says no clouds, so I will be heading out to play with Ollie soon.. the temps are almost balmy.. remember last fall when we thought 55F was cold ?

had a call for my incubators this morning.. lady wants two of them.. now all she has to do is actually show up for them..

after I get the snow cleaned up, I am going to go test a couple of the screw shooters.. DD#1 and grandson might come out this afternoon to help.. I am saving help from my brother for when I do the roof..

I am still waffling to where I am going to finally set the pen.. that decision will be made quickly once the help gets here.. there are a couple of grape vines under the snow down there.. I would like to put one side near them so they can climb up the pen like a trellis.. I know just about where they are,, Ideally, I would like to position one on each side of the South door.. I hope I can find them with just a little hand shoveling..

by now, I imagine TerriO's dog crate is packed full and she is wishing she would have brought more of them..

OK, i am about finished here.. No more picking on BigFam.. she can't help herself.. She thinks incontinent means she is in the USA..

My iPod posted that twice. Not my fault. And Terri I will call you old too. OLD OLD OLD. I'm not afraid of nothin at the Bash. Unless you're doing a real life chicken butchering session, then I might puke. Wait... I might be afraid of chicken feet stew, but that's about it!

I think I might have to get rid of the guineas. :( They are holy terrors and so dominant. They keep the other birds in constant terror or submission. I have had 4 ameracauna deaths this winter because the Guineans won't let them eat or drink. There are only a few that sneak out of the hiding spot to dart to food and water. And that's usually when the guineas are picking at someone else so they're distracted. Very frustrating. I wanted more blue egg layers, and I think I'm down to 2 pullets and one cockerel. And I'm taking care of cockerels very soon...

My silkie broke her brood 2 wks in. I cracked the eggs open, and they stopped developing early on when she must have gotten off them for a long period of time. They were half frozen when I got to them, and smelled gross when I cracked then open. I do still have my wheaten on her nest though. I really want to candle them to see how far along they are, but it seems like she's been on them forever, so it has to be soon.

The coop and back shed are so in need of cleaning. But I'm not doing it in frigid temps, and not until work calms down. Anyone who I haven't called old want to come help clean out the muck? Ill give you wheaten maran eggs In Trade... :D
