Hope we have a good % hatch. Never had Welsummers before. Any of you have them?
We have a small flock of them-1 Rooster and 5 Hens- they lay a nice terra cotta colored egg, some eggs have spots. Our Rooster is a gentleman with his hens, the hens are the chattiest bunch of the group- they always have something to say when you come into the coop- the latest gossip so to speak. Good Luck with your hatch

Well I'll be dinged! This is the smallest hen egg I've ever seen! Here it is next to an average sized egg. I wonder which one laid it? It wasn't in any of the usual places - just out in the open in the middle of the coop. Hmmmmm?!?

How does this happen? All I did was hit "quote".

Anyway, it looks like a fart egg. I was getting a lot of those about a month ago. Must have been the girls bodies getting adjusted to laying again after a long winter?

Judge, that is one early bird if he is trying to crow at 7 weeks! I don't think mine started until they were 5 months? And to answer your breed question, they're all hybrid sex links, bred to be big egg producers.

Heather, I'm glad to hear Pickle did so well. That is awesome.

Irish, Danny wouldn't go outside here either. None of my birds do unless it's over 30* outside. Spoiled little buggers. I did hear a couple of the roos outside a little while ago, though. They must like the sun.

Welcome Michellers & jbher!

HI!

not much going on here (at my house) here (BYC) on the other hand, 100 pages in TWO weeks?!!! I think I missed somethings. lol
My 7 year old asked me the other day, " Whens the BYC camping trip?" lol guess we're coming again this year

lol Like as if I would miss it lol
oops I just remembered I gotta pay plate renewal on 2 cars. later all!

Evening To Everyone....mich, I would expect the ducks Tues, and wed at the latest..usually the day after shipping from McMurrays to Wi....hope you enjoy them, and welcome to the best thread on BYC!

That's cheap enough for parts Jim...that's cheaper than a new sump pump. Suzie will be jealous of Annie's new set-up.

I thought for sure that everyone raised midget whites for the freezer? Sure doesn't sound like that's the plan for them. Don't you folks like Turkey?

Nothing new here. I was gonna set eggs in the bator April 1st....might wait now seeing Spring weather is running late.

What's up Doc....missing your post....We worry you know when folks aren't regular like BM!
