I can't believe you are bored..come on over..I have a coop that needs to be emptied. Ii need some suggestions in that coop. It is filled with lumber I need to organize.

good morning to all and to you to UndaDan, from this old guy,

the best answer I have to that is , it happens.. I have had less of it since I went to 60% hum during the last 3 days.. however I am expecting to have that theory blasted out of the water like so many others before..

I cleaned out the hatcher/bator.. at 8 AM I plugged it in and it is holding 47% and 99F already..

I will be transferring just a few eggs today.. soon..

I am going to put a wet towel on the floor of the hatcher to raise the rh%.. and to catch the minute bits of egg shell that will be sifting through the mesh of the hatching tray..

later on I want to get the last spreader onto the pen, and then see if Bro can come help me get the rest of the roof up.. I will not begin to crow until those last two sections are up..

yes, cind , Pang has brought me about a dozen duck eggs so far.. IKD what kind of ducks she has.. IDK what kinds of chickens she has,, other than , according to the variety of eggs, it must be a very colorful flock..

20 eggs transferred,, 1 clear, a couple questionable..

.....jimthinkingaboutbreakfastandhisfirstcuppa..........

TerriO, before I forget again,,, did your kids have a teacher named Tracy ? you have to think back a ways for this one..

Cs, you could make the trip to fdl to watch the 4h dog class tonight. Im Lways very excited to go! Kiddos are too :)
To, I agree with delish on those chicks!
Jim, im just waiting to see more pics. Someone (maybe vicki...) asked how much you would charge for a pen... imcurious myself. And when do your royal palm turkeys hatch? And if someone had just one turkey, would it hang with the chickies and go in at night? Or might it chooze to go off to live with the wild turkey across the road and in the back 40?

All baby bunnies are alive! Still not sure how many. Man! Its hard to leave them alone! Soon, soon

TO................ love your chicks

.......IDK what I would do ...store that info with all the other not used knowledge in my head....the file cabinet is getting pretty full up there...I know that I should just toss the eggs but,,,,,, I can't help myself.....

Morning everyone!!!!
Robins, really??? all we're seeing are snowbirds up here.

It was actually fun yesterday outside. Been a long time since I have worked outside in snow boots, jeans and a T shirt!!! Still 2 ft or more of snow on the ground on the flat but that sun was really warm!!! Looking forward to kicking the girls out today and doing a good cleaning in the coop before the next storm

. Then I can use the puky weekend weather to stay inside and get the new chickie nursery ready.

Had a surprise yesterday, not of the good kind but glad I caught it. My Crockpot with the bleeding? Got the bleeding fixed
celebrate.gif
and she's looking good and laying well but now dealing with vent gleet (?) dosing her with monistat. Anyway, she needed a bum wash, which I did and then greased up her irritated skin with neosporin (and the still healing picked on tail/vent damage the other girls did when she was bleeding) and hid everything with good ol' blu Kote. Anyway, decided as long as I had clean water left over I would do Soup's back end as well since she looked pretty UN fluffy. SURPRISE! She had a HUGE glob of black poop stuck to her back end and black feathers (thus why I didn't see it before I guess). Looked like one of those that just kept building up, yuck. Thankfully it wasn't blocking anything. Finally got the mess all soaked off (can you say concrete???) from a hen that wasn't really thrilled with the whole thing so it was a toss up who was wetter
D.gif
by the time I got down to skin. Poor baby
hugs.gif
this was stuck so solid that the skin on one side of her vent under this mess was white and peeled off with the last of the poop. Now a good soak in the epsom salts which I think she actually enjoyed, for about a minute and a half any way, now we both have an epsom salts bath
D.gif
More neosporin and a hit with the Blu Kote. Both girls now happily playing in their dustbath, in the greenhouse, of course.

guess what I will be doing again today???? Hope my Chicken SHIrT has dried out

Out now to check on the ladies and get to work. Enjoy the sun everyone!!
TerriO~BTW I saw that beautiful big moon too!!!

Good morning everyone!
Glad to hear about everyones pips and chicks.
I have to admit I am a little jealous, and feel a pang in my stomach thinking about my eggs... Although I think I may have heard some tapping and maybe saw an egg move? Still crossing my fingers....
Sunny day- makes me happy! Have to take DH to have an ultrasound done today. He thinks it's gallbladder issues. Hope they find something actually. He has been dealing with the pain for over a year. That's the farmer in him- put off your own health for the sake of the farm.
Can anyone guess how many pounds of hamburger I need to make meatballs for 25 people? I'm bad at guessing, and I am making meatballs and ham for Easter Sunday. Thought maybe I could make them up tonight and get ahead of the game.
Hope you all have a good day, and maybe there will be more good chick news from you all when I get back
