Hi All!

You all are really. really making me want to hatch some chicks! I promised myself I was only going to let broodies hatch a few this year, wouldn't you know, had a couple go broody when it was still real cold but now, no one wants to set!

With my luck I'll get a broody about May 10th and the chicks will hatch while I'm at the bash!

Oh well, I guess they come when they come.
Delish... any word on that order of BLRW? I'm thinking I want 4.

Didn't let turkeys out today. Way too muddy around their pens. Good thing too, I got 2 turkey eggs. If I get a couple more this week I MAY set them in the bator. I just need to get something built for when they hatch and raise them to 13 weeks or am able to sell them.

The poor chickens! They were in and out between showers all day. Had a few mad, wet hens for sure!

Now the yard looks more suited to ducks than chickens! I think Mother Nature is ****** at us! Yes, we need the rain.... but not all at once!

Well, that's it on my end... night all!

Make my living outdoors & not a youngster. Have never seen a spring like this. Heavy snows....sure...but there was warm temps before ..or after.. such snows, I'm sure Al Gore will tell us its mans fault.

Thankfully we still have power this morning ( a lot of ice & wind ).

Broilers showed up yesterday. Ordered 30 cockerels...got 30 pullets.
Kinda goes right along with this weather ;-).

This is going to sound crazy, but last night a brahma chick hatched with its umbilical cord wrapped around its leg. I had to cut it off. The leg seems ok, but his toes want to curl upward instead of down. And he's got a nice sore on his belly.
