Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning--thanks for the pic Jim...yeah, a looong time ago it used to look like that!  I was picturing you there sitting in your lawn chair, shorts and sandals(without socks) on...oh yeah, you had a nice cold beer in your hand too! "I like Dreamin' " (sing it!)

I hear ya on the house thing Judge...the kids arent my problem though...it's the dogs and cats!  And the fact that I have WAY too much stuff and nowhere to go with it!  These old farmhouses sure arent too much for storage.  I guess when you only had a Sunday outfit and two sets of work clothes one closet was plenty for the whole family!  The last thing I should be doing today is going on a road trip!

I took a look at CL yesterday and I am very glad I did!  Made a new friend just down the road!  He and his wife are retired and he has horses (for HIM) I contacted him because he has hay for sale.  I bought it all and he kept saying, "are you sure that $2:50/bale isnt too much for grass hay?" :lau What a sweetheart!  So he said that since I was buying that he would cut me a deal on the 100% percent alfalfa he had listed for $5/bale. I am heading over on Sunday to pick some of it up.  My goats will be HAPPY!  And so will the horses...the best part is that he is just on the other side of the river, so not a huge drive! :weee Funny that one can get so excited about HAY!  He redid his barn really nice too....told me he likes to stay busy...hmmmm.....
No chickens, but he will have eggs on Sunday for sure!

Guess I better go and get something done before leaving...I wonder if DH is coming home this weekend?
Judge...are you sure you arent working on #5?  That seems to be going around on this thread!

Have a good one!  TerriO

Wow $2.50 a bale what score!! The guy we have been using for 8 years is charging us $4 and tells us every time what a great deal were getting...

I would love to find some cheaper hay! It's costing me $100 a week to feed my 4 horses right now up from about $40 in normal years. That's with a discount for being with this guy for the last 7 years. Can't find anything cheaper that's suitable for horses on Craig's List either. Lucky you!! Hay is out of control in this area. I don't think we'll have that problem this year though with all this incredibly persistent precipitation we have been having.

I paid $3 for marsh hay but the guy doesn't have any more. I need to find someone local who has hay or straw to sell - from what I hear it's slim pickin's around here.

It will be for a while too! We will be keeping our first cutting, and wait to see what the second looks like. Then if we get a third or fourth we will let them go, but we have to hang on to the first and possibly second incase the rest of the season is crappy. Last year we got 25 round bales from first cutting, second was 3 and a portion, and third cutting was 3. It was a bad bad year for hat last year.

OK, This is the view from inside the peacock pen.. I finally half figured out what I am doing.. I am not sure what file to pull up for these most recent pictures.. I found this one, but IDK if I can go directly to this file again.. I will keep trying .. I will figure it out eventually..

this view is looking through both doorways.. all the tree branches do not make a good backdrop for taking pictures ..

I will have to take some pictures when the sun is out..

as always, you can click on the picture and it will enlarge for you..

I am sure yo hit the nail on the head with their birds Amy...either that or you just take better pics! They are watermarked arent they?

BTW Chicky...get in line behind me for those Langshan eggs! I knew I should have bought that trio when I saw them!
TO--really heading out now!
I checked the ebay listing again and the seller ended it early for an 'error'. Got that right! The photos I have on here are not watermarked, they probably stole them from BYC. The person who tipped me off had their photos stolen by this seller too, so tey are keeping close watch. From here on out they will be, maybe I'll go delete everything and start over on here, but what a chore. I do believe I posted about Langshan eggs first, Lady.

Ugh. Trying to do this from my Nook is frustrating. Yes, I got two hens as well. I have 9 eggs in the incubator as a test hatch.

Ok Update- they just called me back and said the store manager just got off the phone with the hatchery to get everything straight, and that the hatchery guaranteed that they ones they received today are definetly runners and rouens. Now what?
8 ducks is not too many! Get 2 runners and 2 rouens.
