Quote: Thank you, I enjoy it although I volunteered three days out of four last month and it nearly killed me to stand all day (I have a fake leg so not the easiest thing to do) by the time the day is over I can hardly move but it is worth it. This old body is out of shape !!!
I mostly just do the Crandon clinic since I am only 7 miles away. If I go to the Rhinelander and Antigo Clinic it's a 30 some mile trip one way and the gas money adds up. Hubby is still not working so I can't volunteer as much as I'd like. It is hard to find people that want to do this... sad.
The worst part is I have to be in Crandon at 7:30AM. Anyone that knows me knows I don't go to bed until 2AM !!! LOL
When I go to Antigo or Rhinelander they have someone that comes in the morning so I don't have to be there until 10:30AM !!! That is still early for me but a whole lot better !!! LOL
I asked the other day if they would ever begin to see all of this pay off and maybe one day not have a full days worth of spay/neuters !!! By the looks of it it doesn't look like there is an end in site. Their schedule is full. They limit it to 25 procedures a day. There are never less then that. Full house every time and by the looks of what's out there on CL and Petfinder.com it doesn't look like there is an end in sight.
It's a good thing all of the dogs the shelters bring in are already spoken for or I'd be coming home with them. I do ask them all the time if they have any poodles !!!
It wouldn't be homeless for long !!!
