Oh, on the dog subject. Today at work our warehouse guy said he had chased them out of the warehouse last week AND one of them peed on some of the bags of feed. She lives about 1/4 mile from my work. Today on FB she posts "I have 100 acres of land behind me, nobody should have been out there anyway." 100 acres?! How long does it take a dog to run across that, 4 minutes? And would they only be running that direction, because my work is completely the other way and they visited there. I do feel very sorry for those dogs. But somehow she's getting all the sympathy and she was the cause of their death. I unfriended her on Facebook, so I can't make fun of her 100 acre comment, but I would love to.

Very clever!!!!!!! yeh that was short and sweet. not very nice to be teased in such a way!!! Well at least it has warmed up some. I saw a nightcrawler this a,m, that means the frost is finally out of the ground. Its always funny to watch the chickens scramble for the crawlers first thing in the morning. Last week I saw one of my roos eat a 16in. grass snake. I ve never seen that before. Made my wifes day, not to fond of snakes ya know!!!!!!

Crazy WI weather. My DH said it was 60* out when he came home from work. An hour later, we had a hail storm. Seriously, Ma Nature?

Clearly the dog owner is in denial. for sure its gotta be someone elses fault. Yes it is sad that the dogs where shot. But just think about those dogs running a deer to death.{that stinks] . Maybe, no, probably more than just a time or two. Not just deer, cattle goats other dogs, any thing for fun.. Sounds like this has been going on for some time! Bad dogs? YES Even worse pet care- control YESx2 She should be fined!! I m sure the dogs have put on lots and lots of miles harassing what ever they could find. But I m sure that was someone elses fault too!!!

As I sit looking out he patio door, to the north I see blue sky s. To the south dark grey sky s. and raining steady right in the middle. BOOOOOOOO!!!!!! We took 8 acres of marsh hay off the lowland last fall and now I have a beautiful 8 acre lake outback. Really nice to watch all the native birds come in , swans, geese, and a wide variety of ducks. But I wish I could see out the window better, or better yet, go outside and soak it all in without gettin soaked throughout!

Afternoon all,

Just got back from Waterloo, Had such a great day. Spent the morning antiquing, found an advertising Pitcher for Wausau in Beaver Dam, Then drove to Wendls in Jefferson to try their burgers. THE BEST PART there is no snow south of Plover. We still have tons here. It was also about 20 degrees warmer. It rained a bit but it is so much better than snow.
They were pretty good. Then I went to Waterloo to Abendroths Hatchery. I got 4 buff Orpingtons and 4 silver lace wyandottes. I got them home in 3 hours, they were pretty quiet the whole way back. Put them in the brooder, Gave them water. I will feed them in about an hour. I was told to wait a few hours after I gave them. Here are some pics

Heck the DNR finds out her dogs were running deer they would shoot them themselves AND give her a ticket! Glad you unfriended that useless person from your life. I would look for her posts on CL looking for dogs OR post an ad on CL about how she treats her dogs..... secretly of course! Glad the cops are finally doing something about the horses too!

CC, I was thinking the same thing with Jim..... but perhaps your skunk just did not like the taste of chickens or rabbits and Jim's skunk preferred goose.....

I had to do some digging on this since it is such a sticking point! YES skunks will kill a chicken or two when going for eggs..... I SUPPOSE a skunk might go after a single goose and win, but I also found evidence of a flock of geese killing a skunk..... so how about everyone being right AND wrong at the same time. Now shake hands and go back to your corners......

Oh, no, no, no, Vicki! You are going about this all wrong! No need to move your greenhouse closer to the coop. Just ask hubby to make your coop bigger in the direction of the greenhouse. That way you'll have more room for more chookies.

I'm new here too..what's a egg? Why do they need to be big? Do you all sit on them or color them?
I was gonna buy some white ones at the store...they were $1.59 per dozen....is that a fair price for hatching eggs?

Nothing new here... my friend from fondy chickened out cause of the weather and didn't bother coming up for turkey hunting. I coulda called him in one I guaranty. He has another tag for when we have woosie weather (3rd week)...same week as me...he will have to call his own that week (good luck) to him. I always fill my tags. Prolly fill mine and call one in for him. Turkeys love me...they think I sound to sweet to resist.....SUPRISE....

I think I'm losin it....I need SUN!
