Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

BigFam: Is the feather loss due to "attention" from the roos? Several of mine have the bald or almost bald patches on the back near tail from this! Also regarding the kids and eating-I totally relied on V8 to get nutrition into my daughter for similiar reasons. Another way I got good stuff into her was making "smoothies" and adding fruit, yogurt, and sneaking in veggie juice. (She was already so limited onw hat she could eat due to Celiac the nutrionalist said to not push her to much and to give her time-as she got older she would branch out-and its very true. Also getting her involved with gardening-growing her own veggies amde her more interested in trying them. There are also many interesting studies done on a corollation between gluten and autism-might be worth reading about.

I sneak veggies in everywhere. Sloppy joes and anything with a sauce will hide a veggie puree, and my kids like fruits and veggies too. Except brussel sprouts my son named them yucky balls and now my daughter repeats it every time they are served. and they are served, because I love them.and because(here comes a lie) I dont let my kids run all over me about stuff.

On the chicken front the purple/ white marans chick is much better today.

And I scored a Hovabator clean in the box at a rummage sale this morning. Asked the guy and he said" I thought we were gonna have chickens so I bought that to hatch em in, used it once and only got 1 chick to hatch and it died a week later. No more chickens for me" No turner and no fan but, for 10 bucks I will make it a hatcher.

The one food I can't make myself eat - brussel sprouts. Just the smell of them makes me gag! I love cabbage so you would think bs would be OK. But BIG NO!! They truly ARE yucky balls!!

Nice rummage sale score!!

Delish.... got my chicks all picked out! Save 'em for me! LOL BTW why are some darker than others if they are all BLRW?

Not much going on here either. Yard is still pretty swampy but seems to be slowly drying up.

Night All!

These are hens and the males colors are outstanding and more vibrant

This will give you an idea on what colors can happen.

My grandson and granddaughter are autistic and I believe they both have gluten issues. My grandson will only eat chicken fingers and spagetti..nothing else. my grandaughter will eat only fruits and vegetables. Two totally different children, but, both can't tollerate different textures.

I have to put vegetables and beans in foods for DH. Blenders come in handy. He will voluntarly eat very few vegetables.
