Judge, as far as the ducks go my two pekins have stayed with this batch if chicks two months so far. The ducks stayed away from the lamp much sooner than the chicks and seemed to get hot much easier. Not an expert here, but my guess from observation was that they liked it a little cooler than the chicks did.
So now all I have indoors in the 2 turkey poults , 2 goslings, and 2 ducklings. As soon as the geese and ducks get some feathers in they will be booted outside. I've been putting them outside during the day once it warmed up over the weekend and boy they are lovin it. I converted my rooster pen into a chick pen for now just so I could get these chicks out. They were driving me crazy with the picking they were doing to the polish. I'm crossing my fingers it was due to boredum or lack of room. Being outside all day I didnt see any issues with the picking so hopefully everything will go ok.
