BF4 - I hope your therapist ordeal is over soon and you find someone steady and competent!!

I got a gift of a couple of boxes of millet on the spray for my chickens. I called them over for a treat and threw a few down for them. Well, they looked at me like I had three heads yammered their discontent and the rooster gave me the stink eye. Then, one-by-one, they all turned and walked out of the coop. Like how dare I bring some odd looking treat not in a bucket or a feed bag??

Well, today I thought, "Maybe they just didn't know what it was." So I took one of the stalks and rubbed the seed off - when they saw the seed fall they quickly scratched about in the straw for it. Spoiled little babies!

Hi all-
Sorry about the losses. I had a close call tonight with Judge almost eating my poor BSL Sally. DD6 came screaming her little head off that Judge was eating her. I called him over and he had a mouth full of black tail feathers. Of course he ran right up the porch steps where my daughter was hysterically crying. I thought she was going to faint when she saw that. Well I saw poor Sally run off with her bare bum flashing me as she ran away.

Between the dog coming up to DD with mouth full of feathers and the sight of her running away with a bare @$s I couldn't help but laugh. The dog did not get off so easy though. Here is a pic of him. Not a small boy-

Jim- how long did it take to acquire so many loads of chicken poo?

I hope I am not forgetting anything.
Put the final touches on my baked alaska for Mother's Day tomorrow. Looks so fancy, but was sooo easy to make. Barring any blow torch mishaps tomorrow it should be a hit.

I gave my chickens some more halibut yesterday. I found more in the freezer (about 3 pounds) so I thawed it and fed it to them. They sure love that stuff! I think my husband is planning another trip to Alaska. Here we go again . . . Bring home an elk in the fall, that's all I ask. No Caibou, moose, mule deer, white tail deer, salmon or halibut. Wild turkey and elk are the meats I prefer.

TO I found an EXCELLENT GF pie crust recipe, just let me know if you want it. It is a little different to work with but the end results and pretty close to the real deal.

The Dean has his Spring Fling party tonight. We had a good time! I took over a variety of cheeses from our local cheese store and they were a hit! They loved the 6 yr old cheddar and the Le Gruyere the most, but the pepper Jack was closing in as a fave....

BigZ, the DH would be busy for a while up at your place for sure!

If it was, consider yourself lucky..

I have a trio of seb geese,, less than 3 years old.. I would take $150.oo for them from any cheesehead, but I would ask $250.oo on craig's list..

I set 20 guinea eggs today.. collected 8 eggs from the new pen.. It really pays to have them locked up.. they have settled down quite a bit.. when I was ducking under the roosts to collect the eggs , one jumped onto my back.. how's that for tame guineas ??

Hi All!
Another cr@py pain day... first it was my back, now my hips are screaming at me!! Hit my limit on what little pain killers I can take, going to have to move to the "something else" or I'm never going to sleep. Can't even do dishes or sort eggs

I'm sure the girls were going WTH when I closed them up because I usually spend time with them. Not tonight.

One of Storkey's chicks died. Think it may have been the late hatch. So sorry about all the losses.

Oh Sh!t the pain is bad.... can't sit anymore. Had more to say but.... Night

Yeah Dan, you're probably right. It's probably a blessing in disquise. Everything happens for a reason. Yadda yadda. The lady's name began with an H. and that's all I'm going to say in a public forum, as I don't want to get a bad repuation for 'bashing someone'. But if it's the same person you're thinking about and they have questionable birds, then as a newbie I really need to know these things b/c I don't need my whole flock wiped out by a disease or whatever when I'm just sitting here ignorant and new and never even knew what the heck just happened! LOL!

I have them in a box together and away from my other chicks, but i've touched them and then touched my other ones. What's the issue/concern please? I'd hate to have my chances of having chickens ruined b/c I end up with a disease on my property or something.
