Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Here are my new babies! I CAN'T STAND how adorable, cute, friendly, and snuggly my little Naked Neck is!! I tried smooching her on her beak and my lips practically engolfed her whole head! LMAO! She'd better get used to it, cuz until I get my other NN's, she's gonna be smothered!

Here she is!! (standard sz, partridge color)

2 red crested red pullets and 1 white crested black cockerel, standard sz Polish

Blue splash Silkie pullet to go along with the black one we already have:

2 Mille Fluer D'Uccles (1m, 1f) & a porcelean (f)

standard size Cochin pullets: 1 blue sassy brat who keeps pecking you and likes to attack wood chips and
peck at the box, and 1 gold laced.
Awwwww! They are little darlin's!!

Hi All!
Another cr@py pain day... first it was my back, now my hips are screaming at me!! Hit my limit on what little pain killers I can take, going to have to move to the "something else" or I'm never going to sleep. Can't even do dishes or sort eggs

I'm sure the girls were going WTH when I closed them up because I usually spend time with them. Not tonight.

One of Storkey's chicks died. Think it may have been the late hatch. So sorry about all the losses.

Oh Sh!t the pain is bad.... can't sit anymore. Had more to say but.... Night

Feel better, Cind!!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

We had a WONDERFUL brunch at my MIL's nursing home (Bethany in Waupaca)!! They have remodeled the dining rooms and now operate them more like a restaurant than a nursing home DR. The residents and families just love it! It's a big improvement to the quality of the resident's lives and it helps bring more family members in to eat and spend time with the residents. Win/Win!

The flock is now really liking the millet so I think I'll plant a big patch for them after the hubs plows the garden up for me. I still have to strip the seeds off for them but what's a mom for anyway? (Mine always cut the corn off the cob for me after I lost my front teeth in a pick up game of baseball with the neighborhood boys when I was in 5th grade.)

My plants are all outside sunning themselves - good thing they're not already in the garden with the frosty nights we've been having. I hear some places have a pollen advisory AND a wind chill advisory! That's some crazy schmidt!!

Happy Mothers day to those with kids, four legged furry ones or feathered babies! Had to laugh... we went to breakfast in town and the kids wouldnt eat their eggs...they love eggs... when asked, it was because it did not taste as good as our eggs..these were funny to them. Love that they are already trained!!

my weekly updates of pics of my now 7 week old teenagers!
Here are those rocks from Deli...still thinking pullet and yes I am going to keep asking... the buff colored one is probably going to my girlfriend and her new coop as she has alot of roos mixed in and is probably going to keep one of the rock roos because they are so nice.

then Willow our Olive egger from JJ... she is really sweet and I think she is a she. Hoping for those great olive eggs.

Nice looking bunch of girls!

Hi All.... sorry for being whiny last night.

DrH... Congrats on the motor back! Hope you get some good fishing in now! Thanks for the hug.

Psyco... My hips and back have been having issues for years, Dr. told me years ago to expect to have hip replacement. My back issues I seem to have gotten from both my parents. My mom's back looked like a pretzel wen she died and my dad has had 6 surgery's in the last 10 years because his is degrading. I have no insurance so can't afford to get any help with it. I'm allergic to opioid and opiates so that kills a whole class of pain killers for me.I always have some pain. I learned to live with that. It's just I get these flareups that get bad, those can get hard to deal with. My weight doesn't help either. I'll live, I may hurt, but I'll live. Sorry your day stunk. Live and learn I guess. Cute little peepers.

TO... Thanks for the concern. As for meds.... see what I said to Psyco.

Apyl.... Good ting you found that poult in time. Sorry about the others

Happy Mothers Day to all you Mothers. i made chicken on the grill and suzie made seven layer salad and crab salad. It was all delish.

Glad you are feeling better today Cind. Hope you had a good holiday today.

Nice pics...thanks for sharing.

Time to increase the brooder size....wings are feathered and they are growing fast now.

Forgot to mention yesterday....sorry about the preds at your place zeke. I took a closer look at my one pen and need to finish off the bottom of the fence better there. My one coop and pen is fort knox and nothing is ever getting in there. The other needs some attention after 3 years of use.

I hope tyler can make the bash.

Suprise finish to the race i thought...never expected that last 10 laps or so.

Have fun... bigz

what a wasted day.. too cold outside to really get into any small project.. I did spend a while watching the guineas.. somehow, 3 of them escaped the pen.. all I can find is a small hole at the top of the gate.. they could not fly out, but maybe sort of land close to it and squeeze out ? I will patch it and catch them again..

I never had two turkeys hatching eggs at the same time.. so IDK how they would re-act if one hatched just a little ahead of the other.. I don't think that would be a problem, though..

I put another peacock egg under the goose in the chicken coop.. she has four eggs now.. and that is it for her.. It is her first nest ever, so I don't want to take a chance that she will quit the nest.

I did manage to partially take the carb apart..I blew carb cleaner through any port I could find and they were all open.. now it is down to either, or both the interior screen filter and the diaphram...
I don't want to mess with either until I am certain that I can get replacement parts .. a project for tomorrow..

BigZ, what exactly is the matter with your Fjiord ?? and do you have a loader on it ?

I was going to mess around with the riding lawn mower, but one of the tires is flat.. and so is one of the front tires on Ollie.. Now is when I wish I had down pressure on the loader.. then I wouldn't have to jack up the front end by hand,, such hardships in life, eh ??

I got 5 guinea eggs today and 5 BR eggs.. and 1 peacock egg.. before you jump on that one,, peacock can be used to describe the whole flock as well as just the male .. look it up..

Annie got called into work today.. so I have the whole place to myself. those other caretakers always find an excuse to be too busy on Christmas, Thanksgiving, Mother's day, and just about any other #$%day you can think of.. and Annie never learned to say no to them..

Took a few pages to catch up.

Spent weekend hauling camper to Lake of the Woods ( from Dells ).
Saturday...wish I had checked forcast. Had no idea on the strong winds. 30+ years trailering equipment...never had a trip like that. Will never forget crossing the bridge @ Duluth...and I'm sure a few of the folks behind me wont forget.

DW did a great job of taking care of all the critters while I was gone,.

A belated happy mothers day!!
