Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hi all--brought the kids in to lay down for a bit. THey have been sleeping for half an hour now...ans I am caught up on posts. Well, I havent gone to the bash link yet...it is almost as busy as here! Guess I should take a look as I am amassing things to bring.

BigFam--PM Deli and if she doesnt have any I can bring some for you. My neighbor just told me to put his babys 'skovies on CL next week. I still have not had any hatched except for the one of Frankie's that is living with the turkey babies! I have about 15 hens on nests though...duckling invasion probably next week. I guess they didnt see the memo about the bash...either that or they arent very good at counting backwards on the calendar!

Amy--still only the one goose! There are 6 on nests though...I guess you and Julie will just have to take a road trip. Or maybe I will come there with horses and daughter...got some news today--the kids' last day here for the summer will be next Friday! I have been so bummed thinking about them not being here any more!

Who would have thought you could fall in love with somebody else's kids? I have to find some more to watch I guess...

I need to get a few more things planted in the garden and then I should be good to go. Guess I should get dinner started while the kids are still sleeping...a little easier that way!
Have a good one--TerriOpicturingJimandBrotherslipslidin'inthemud

WOW are w getting clobbered by a storm right now! I made sure I had the kindle charged up so I was wireless when it hit. My poor little flock couldn't understand why they were being chased unto the coop on such a great day but I bet they know now. I barely hobbled outside and got them all tucked in before it hit

I hope everyone is safe

!!!

Yeah - I scrambled mine inside with table scrap bribes before it rained hard earlier - they're tucked away for the night now with all the hatches battened down. I've got to get them into their chicken run or the back yard soon - they're into mobbing anyone who drives in now. My customers love to feed them. They can throw it over the fence if I ever get the fence finished!

Tornado watch here this evening and the sky looks ominous - not like a tornado sky but ominous all the same. There's no place like home...there's no place like home...there's no place like home...

the walls are all up and the top plate is in place.. It is a lot sturdier than the peacock pen due to the rigid footings.. I am so happy that Dave brought Jake along.. Jake did most of the hard work, we just held things up and ran for tools..

WE got rained on a bit, because Jake wouldn't let us run to the house.. and we didn't even slip slide in the mud, thanks to all the wood chips I had spread all around the site..

I didn't take any pictures yet.. maybe tomorrow the sun will shine..

I have to clean out the Blazer of all my tools and fix up my bed in there.. I am going to pack tomorrow morning and head out a little after noonish..

I am too tired to do anything more tonight..

Hi all! Hope you all ejoyed the weather today. We had a few heavy brief showers, and just waiting on one last storm to blow thru. I ran out to put the van in the shed(DH is VERY fussy about vehicles) and I forgot that I left one of one coop doors open. Didn't want any hail hurting the van or the chickies. I do not like running around in the open when it is lightening though! Second time I went out after dark. The young roosters don't always efigure out how to get back inside to roost, so I had to gather him up and throw him over the fence.
Got some of my seeds in the garden, but still have lots to do. It was too windy though to try carrot or dill seeds.
Can anyone tell me about when potatoes are ready? Sept? Just trying to figure the best place to plant them. I am hoping they are ready before the corn silage is ready or the big trucks wil run them over going to the bunker silo.
Wow- this is a loud storm! Windy!!
Good night all and stay safe tomorrow and the bash. Hopefully there won't be any strong storms. Can't wait to see lots of pictures
