Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

And yes I did sign the cookbook...as you look through it you will find that I also contributed LOTS of recipes! I didnt know that you were the one that ended up with it. Does that mean you got the white elephant too? OH OH--guess who's coming to the bash next year?
hide.gif

ALthough, if you have your "secret get-together" and have a W.E. Exchange you could theoretically get rid of it....BUT, then everyone that didnt get invited would know that you had that get together and would probably stone you at the spring bash! So sorry lady...you and your "trouble making ways" are stuck!!!
No such luck, Terri. She swiped the cookbook but left us with the W.E. So you can breathe easier now.

Nah Terri... Can you believe Steve didn't want to keep the cookbook?! He traded me for the motorcycle bag locks. But him and Robin kept the white elephant (it's like they just KNEW I'd lose it!!!)

So no stoning happening for THAT reason!!! ;)

Greetings from the Black Hills!

We have not had ANY rain this entire trip! Just beautiful sunny weather! The wind was a bit much in the Badlands but it was so beautiful who cares!

I have had such lousy internet connection, this is the first campground with good service! I have to give a shout-out to our current campground, Big Pines Campground in Custer SD. The people who own it are amazing! They gave us extra firewood, goodie bags for the dogs that included treats and local vet information, the campground is clean, and they have modern bathing facilities with LOTS of hot water!

A BIG THANK YOU! To BigZ, TO and everyone else who made the Bash a success!!!! Thank you to everyone who got a few bars of soap off of me, and I am so sorry some of you missed out! All the food was wonderful once again, and I know that everyone appreciates the efforts to make sure everyone has food they can eat! I will let you know when the school decided to have graduation next year...... if it is Sunday we MIGHT be able to come Friday-Sat...... no promises though. It was SO nice to see everyone!!!! Jim, WONDERFUL pancakes! I am going to try and duplicate your efforts out here with a box of jiffy cornbread mix and a little extra flour and milk.

So let's see if I can get a few pics uploaded on here.....

Apparently not. Well, the pig is still navigating and he is doing a fine job (there is a beanie-baby pig on the dash of the RV). The dogs are having fun, I think they are less of an issue than the kids at times..... we took them for a hike up on a trail in the Badlands today (and found out later that was a no-no), they has SO much fun running up those cliffs and sniffing everywhere! Good thing we did not see any rattlesnakes! Tomorrow we head further west.......

And before I forget AGAIN....
DrH, I am so very sorry about Taz......

Night everyone!

Psycho: if the only symptom is this one chick with dropped wings in this one picture, I would not treat them. You posted this picture last week too right? So it hasnt been acting sick since then? Birds naturally will drop their wings when warm, as a way to cool off their body heat. Personally, I think that treating too quickly (no signs of sickness in breathing, sneezing, poop, energy etc) can cause birds to build up an immunity to medications unnecessarily. IMHO

I posted this yesterday. I just took the pics yesterday morning and posted them. I did not see any bloody stool anywhere when I cleaned it out today. Her butt looks alright, I guess. Maybe a little bit of poo stuck in the feathers towards the belly area, but just a smaller amt and it isn't that nasty pasty butt. I will check them in the morning. I checked in just a few mins ago when I got home from work, she's still alive and seems okay, but everyone was draped over everyone else's bodies and now they're mad at me and were yelling at me for turning the bright light on and waking them up. They've almost quieted down completely, so I don't want to go back in. So I'll check for noisy breathing, nose/eye drainage, and pasty butt on all of them in the morning. But I mean - I was just handling them all yesterday when I took the pics and no one else seemed to be acting like this at all. Plus I DID look at MULTIPLE butts b/c I was trying to see if I could vent sex seeing as how they're bigger now. I didn't do it to all of them, just grabbed several random ones. None seemed to act funny and none had icky butts.

Yep, the schedule at bash varies some...it rained, food wasen't ready....and we really can't wait for folks that said they were coming...the ones that are there, and want to get on the road home at a reasonable time need the consideration over others....just sayin

bigz

I've never been to a bash before, so this is my first experience and I don't know what's going on or what to expect. Of course you need to take other people into consideration and not just me. I wasn't implying that in the least. And I wasn't implying that you all should've waited just. for. me. That's just silly. What I *was* saying was that if I knew it was going to be held at X time (give or take, I understand) then I would've made sure to have gotten there earlier. And I'm not being snotty, rude, or argumentative, I'm just sayin. Whether or not I got there in time for the raffle is relative to the weekend as a whole. I still had a super fun time, as did the kids!!!
woot.gif
I didn't come for the raffle, I came for the whole weekend. And it was WORTH IT!

TO - Yeah - that rain has really put a damper on me planting the garden. It kept freezing every several days so I wanted to wait until at least 1 week w/o freezing temps at night. But after that the rain was just too much! It would've washed up all my little seeds! :( Then we were busy weeding it and said the heck w/it and put on that weed killer, but there's still a whole heck of a lot of greenage out there. So either it didn't work, my hubby sprayed too thin of a layer to do much good, or when it started raining a couple hrs later, it diluted it too much. Sigh. Back to the ol' drawing board!

CC - Too funny about your roos! Just the visual of you fending them off while they're fighting on your shoulders, around the back of your head, flapping everywhere with feathers raining down on you....{{shakes head}}

Jim - I should learn a lesson with you, I have a very bad habit of running my van to fumes. I'm surprised I haven't ran out at least a couple dozen times! LOL! Well, at least I have AAA. They'll come out to you and put a couple gallons of gas in for you.

BigFam - The first commandment..."Thou shalt not kill", right?? (I'm not a Christian, so I'm kinda taking a stab at it, sorry)
- as for the lightening...my daughter's friend at school? His mom has been struck by lightening TWICE! and she's still walking around like a normal folk, not even any problems with remembering things or anything! Talk about a lucky duckling!

BL - I was just on that trip you're on a couple yrs back. Don't forget to check out something called Story Book Island. Did you stop at Wall Drug? You HAFTA!!! It's awesome!!! Hmm....must also stop at the corn palace in Mitchell, SD on your way back if you ahve time. And in Blue Earth, MN, you can stop and see the Jolly Green Giant 60 ft statue and garden. It's right off the I90 on the right if you're heading back to WI. It's free, just like the corn palace and Story Book Island.

The girls were SUPPOSED to look like they were holding him up. But I guess they're too old for that! They told me no, that's stupid! LOL!

Here's me at Wall Drug wrangling their wild Jackalope! LOL! It's fun, this place is ginormous! Stop if you have the time. :)

Also, not sure where all you're going or how much free time you may have, but in Alliance, NE, (not too far out of the way), is a place called Carhenge. Some guy took a bunch of junk/scrap cars & trucks from a junk yard and burried them and stacked them up just like Stonehenge in Scottland! Worth seeing if you are able. (also free!)

Went to Wausau (80 miles one way)
th.gif
to see a NP for my diabetes. Actually I want to go talk to a nutritionist so I had to see her first. Very nice woman but just like all of the other doctors and nurses, when they read my medical history their jaws drop
idunno.gif
!!! So long story short (see I"m trying CC !! ) I"m having my adrenal gland and pituitzry gland checked, I HAVE to be in Elcho AT 8:30AM tomorrow morning !!! Did I already say
th.gif
???

Then I have to be in Rhinelander at ????? forgot the time, sometime in the afternoon to see the diabetes educator !!!!!
th.gif
!!! Then on Thursday I go back to Antigo to get my knee unit (hydraulics on peg leg ....make it easier for Bigfam to understand) switched out. Mine was in for repairs and they called today and said if I don't give theirs back soon they will start charging and insurance doesn't pay !!!! Gee Whiz..... when I was waiting for a loaner to come in I couldn't charge them !!!!!
smack.gif

Hey Jim, sorry I didn't stop when I saw your two vehicles in the middle of Bridge Street RearEnd to RearEnd !!!!!
lau.gif
I didn't want to interupt a good thing, looked like you two were having fun !!!
gig.gif

Just kidding !!! I didn't call or email to say I wasn't stopping over because I didn't have my phone charger along AND my laptops charger fried this morning, TG that's all it was !! When my puter up and quit I realized the charger thingy wasn't lit up. COST me $50 on the way home for a new one... Highway Robbery !!! But cheaper then a new puter so guess I can live with that.
So anyway, I also got an insulin pen today. The Nurse Practitioner didn't know what the heck to do with me. My blood sugars aren't real high in the morning but higher then they should be and because I have neuropathies in my foot and both hands already from the chemo they'd like to keep my sugars down in the morning..... we shall see.
So needless to say I am not a happy camper like I was on Saturday !!
lau.gif
I'm having withdrawals already and my belly is full.... stopped and got a pizza at Aldi's for supper.... did eat less then I normally do.... that's a start right.
Guess I'll finish reading "The Wheat Belly" book that my other doctor recommended last week.
Wish this sleeping pill would kick in.... I have to be someplace in the morning and don't want to sleep drive !
he.gif

Oh and it looks like I will be getting more ducks on Thurs or Friday. The hatchery is resending the whole order out again !!! Because they failed to mark the male ducks and chicks I don't know if I lost the few males that I ordered or what ? so I guess the squeaky wheel got the grease this time !!! So looks like next year I'll have magpies and black runner ducklings or eggs.
ya.gif
And ShhhhssshhHHH...... I have a good Idea for a raffle or white elephant for next year !!!!! And I'm not tellin !!!!
wee.gif
Ok, starting to yawn.... time to pee and hit the hay !!!

"Save me, save me mommy!"
gig.gif

Psyco... My DH got your "wrapping paper".... he even saved it!
roll.png
lol BTW.... the bell was up before we even had the car unpacked! It just so happens our door bell is broke... so this worked great! OH, the pulled pork was something they make where DH works.
1st commandment... "Thought shalt have no other gods before Me"

Jim... DH was happy you posted your pancake recipe... he thought they were the best he had! Sounds like you had an "interesting" day! LOL

JJ....Wow.... where were you when I found that cold, dead chick last week?

Twizz... Hope you find out what happen to the goslings.
sad.png

irish... hope your hen is OK now.

GS... sorry about your nephew.

vicki... cute pics!

Bl4.... well, I've HEARD of some of those places! Have Fun!

FT... You put on more miles in a month than most people do in a year! Hope your new knee works well! Good night /day to you!lol

Good news! A may get a garden after all!!!
ya.gif
2nd son got the tiller fixed! He replaced the motor for about $100 and it's 7 1/2 hp! bigger than what was in it. It's only going to cost us $50 because he wants free rights to barrow it. Just fine with us... we'd let him use it anyway!
wink.png
Young son already tilled 2/3 of the garden. because it's so late I think that will be enough for this year. I'll look for plants today.
The neighbor from our back lot came to get a refill on eggs. Said he hasn't had such good eggs in years!
smile.png
He was wondering why the turkeys hadn't come to visit the last few days, he missed them. Guess I don't need the gates closed during the day too often. The neighbors love my birds!
bow.gif
Here I thought they would be ****** off at them. I did warn them about the gardens, but you pretty much got to fence around here anyway or other critters will help themselves. They even like Rudy! Even if he barks at the drop of a leaf!

Yea, I had sparing roosters today too! This time they started in at each other away from the Toms. If they fight near the Toms they break it up! LOL Storkey is doing well with taking the kids out and is fine with her new spot for the kids. I guess I should pick out the ones I want to keep and plan on selling the rest. Someone DH works with wants 6. He may get them out of 2 batches.

Guess that's it... got to get up and get plants for the garden... night all!

WOW.... just had a panic attack! Cat stepped on the mouse and everything went bye-bye!!!

barnie.gif
Thank goodness he just opened a new tab! All is good.

Hey everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Haven't been on here in awhile, lots of newbies! :) Wondering if anyone one would be interested in a black Cochin fizzle bantam rooster?! I need to find him a home ASAP since I am not allowed to have roosters where I live. He is waking the neighbors!! I will post a pic later. Let me know if your interested!! Thanks!!
