Well the horses came back but I was unsuccessful at getting them all back in and the filly ran through the "gate" and snapped the wire. So when my husband came home after midnight he asked me to help put them away. No, I'm sleeping. These things are officially for sale. That snotty mare is 90% of the problem. I only wanted to keep her because I'm afraid nobody will want her and she may go for meat someday. But I've had enough. Chickens are so much less stress.

And yes, they were "out". I let them out every day to eat the grass in our yard, but that mare always leads them down to the river. They like eating the grass down there better. When it was just the gelding he never left the yard.

Lisa...that tank is gorgeous. I had a 125 with African cichlids in it before we had kids...we loved that. Never seen glass is cloudy that was not the white scum. Thanks for the ideas, we will try those today. Kids are excited for fish. They are animal lovers here!

Well we have a day full of birthday parties for the kids. Have to find time to get the rest of the garden in this weekend. Needs to get done!

LMiller..... Wow, that tank is georgous and that was so generous and kind of you.....

I would love a salt water tank but I am past my prime, not enough energy to clean out my empty 55 gal fresh tank let alone set up the brand new on in the box out in the garage.
I'd like to breed Angel fish. Never did it but would like to, but yes Horseship, donkeyship, ponyship, chickenship, duckship, guineaship and husbandship as all taken up so much of my time............ wow even just typing all that makes me tired.

TO, thanks for the info... that makes sense, to bad I flipped my bifocals behind the headboard and on the floor today. Can't reach them nohow.... will find a long stick or broom tomorrow. Then I can read the yogurt label !!! lol

Amy..... I know Dean from Morfeys very well but I saw him at the Racine office and occasionally in the Milw office.


Got a call from my Internist's office today. They called to appoligize that they didn't call me last night like they said about my sleep study and pulm function tests. And get this, now I have to wait until Monday. She said my doctor got the results but didn't have any idea what they meant. She said that my doctor said he's been in practice for 40 years and he has no idea what the guy was talking about !!! (or something like that) So I asked if the bottom line was does he think I have sleep apnea, she said no he thinks it has something to do with my breathing..... so I asked if my pulm function test came in... she said yes but the same doctor read and wrote that report !!!!!!
So he asked for it to be read by someone else yesterday and they never called him. So now it's going to his friend at St Lukes in Milw...... I'll tell ya... I have never done anything medically by the book.... guess I'm not going to start now !!!
I did get my adreanal gland and pitutie gland results back today and they are normal..... I'm not but they are !!!

Hey Jim, I like the way you think..... I'll make a double batch of those cookies, one for you one for me !!!!

good morning, or is it ? rained really hard early this morning with thunder.. so much for getting into the garden again !!

that keet I helped out of the shell is doing well,, but it is the tiniest one I ever saw.. last year I had one that never reached full guinea size.. I wonder if this egg was from her ? maybe I stumbled upon a bantam guinea gene ?

keets are going on C"s List today.. I contacted a couple of the people who were waiting for keets , one responded,, one did not.. if you snooze , you looze..

I put the barock roo and a few of his girls back into the "egg pen" Zeke ordered two dozen pullet eggs. I think I will give him all roo eggs..

all I have left for turkeys are old Tommy and one of his Jakes.. what a relief of course, there are the 5 poults out in the brooder, and lots of eggs in the bator.. but none of them are going to be wintered over this year..(just old Tom)..

I've made those cookies before! Super easy AND super yummy! You can actually omit the vanilla and soda if you want.

Since 1971 so 42 years this July. No wonder I ache all over !! So you worked for Deano ???? I went to him once or twice when I was a kid, then switched to Dorflingers. Then later in life in my twenties went back to Dean. Then 10 yrs ago he didn't accept my insurance for my c-leg so went someplace else. Now I go to Walkabout from Wausa.

Anyone have any ideas of where to put all of these ducks OUTSIDE for brooders. My house STINKS !!! Probably find out my resp problems are poultry/fowl related !!!! Wouldn't that be a bummer !!!

Gonna look on CL for some snow fence to put around our garden, if we ever get it planted. Gotta keep the pigs out of it !!! Then of course the deer but I know they can jump. But pigs fly so maybe I'm doomed !!

Oh,, not as close as I hoped. It would be nice to have a few more people close to share birds with. I have been lucky enough to be working in the wausau area lately and I have had a chance to meet Jim. Not only is he a wealth of nowledge, he has a very quick clever sense of humor and is willing to share both. I do live close to cooties and have met both Mel and Scott...really nice couple!!!! Its fun to share with them. they r kinda new to this stuff and they are eggsited to try diff. breeds and ideas. I may have to talk the mrs. into makin me some of these cookies. Hey JIm i'll bring you some to try [ not nibbled]

Info for all; I will have some young pullets for sale soon, I 've got several kinds about 8 wks. old. I m going to go with the b-rocks I got from Jim for layers [huge eggs] So that means some of the others get the boot! Some not all, still gotta have a little color in the flock. I now have about 60 young birds 8 older birds 30 eggs in bator .

I was out there about an hour ago and I could walk without sinking in.. going to be sticky digging, but I don't care..

I just listed a bunch of birds on wausau craigs list.. you will know my ads,, they are the ones with the high prices.. location is N W Wausau..

I took a bunch of pictures, but they won't down load / up load ..( what's the difference ?) anyhow they won't do either..

I just had a call about some keets.. 9 AM tomorrow.. this one will show up..

OK, I wasted enough time for one day.. better go outside and do something, even if it wrong..

So sorry for the rest of you, BUT, my gardens are in!!!! . And, hubby just finished putting the new steel on the coop roof (it was leaking in the wall which was discovered when we cut the hole to hang the nest boxes) which means the coop remodel is done!!! . My back is healed and my ankle is quickly getting there. All is right in my little chicken world, and and would be perfect if my girls, the big ones, would start laying again. I think I can actually give my hubby the rest of the weekend off!!!
