Nice Evening To Everyone....sorry the free eggs didn't work out bl4...been busy here and didn't see your post. I'll give them to the neighbors...they bake, bake, bake and will use them ..i'm up 12 doz and like to keep them fresh...maybe next time.

Sounds like everyone is having fun....been working way to hard here....all day today...I'm ready for a good day off ...like maybe tomorrow. The gardens are lookin pretty good....lots of hoeing.

Moved the almost 8 week old bucks out to the big coop in a separate pen inside...they are doing and lookin good. I love it when a plan comes together right. They are happy birds.

Hope the squash turns out goody TO...can't be countin til it's done ya know.

This weather has been different in so many ways....we are lucky living in the land of the free.

I have my bucket 3/4s full. I use about a 1/2 a bucket a day total in the spring and summer because of all of the ducklings and chicks. I replace with dry daily. I have had the same bucket going for quite a while. (8 months) In the winter I do not have many birds to feed and the bucket lasts a few days before I add more dry.
I do not use ACV in my bucket during the summer unless the ph level gets bad.(you can tell by smell). I use so much of it daily i do not need it. I add the ACV to my waterers or electrolytes during the summer.

LAB that was the other ff additive I was trying to remember when I referenced yogurt. Vickiw, I think I'm using the same brand chick starter and will have to read over the ingredients again that would explain why it's fermenting so nicely with just water. I have seen it too where instructions are to keep adding to the bucket like you would sour dough starter. I've also seen where people use a strainer to collect the days feed. My feed is like gruel, it would take forever to strain it IDK

Strainers are needed for fine ground feeds(mash) or grain feeding. Pellets or crumbles do not need much of a strainer.

Thank you all for your sincereness. I may have found two different people to take my Chickens on the understanding they would have to be a closed flock. I will find out tomorrow. I know some may not understand my decision but its what I've come up with so far versus me killing them. Which is how I feel about it. Neither parties has a flock to infect and I know them well enough to know they wouldnt take them off their property .

well I fooled Mother Nature today.. this morning I replanted my beans and corn, and then right ahead and planted the rest of the seeds , carrots, beets, lettuce .. so in case it rains, I would be ready.. well, It did not rain,, so I decided to do the alternate plan.. got my scaffold up, clamps ready and clamped in the first purlin.. never even ran the first screw in.. I started to rain,HARD ..

but the garden is getting the good soaking it needs to start the seeds..

DD#1 found me a roto hoe at a rummage sale.. a battery operated one.. I have to go pick it up and see how it will work..

I have turkeys, barocks and guineas hatching today.. and a peacock pip,, have to really watch that one..

This summer cold turns out to be a virus that's going around. And for the hubs (who brought it home from work), it turned into pneumonia. I had the store closed yesterday because I had a little fever and I'm going to lay low for a few days. I don't have the strength to tackle any garden work right now.

Y'all take your vitamin C, drink lots of fluids and wash your hands a lot - this thing is misery! You DON'T want it - trust me.

Surprise, surprise, momma Scovy hatched her babies today! Right about 28 days too. Maybe they take after daddy?

Looks like only 1 didn't hatch, so lucky 13.
