Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Frenchy...what a sweet baby! Love it. I would rescue and adopt a houseful of animals if I had my way...dh is not an animal lover and tolerates my needs but I dont want to push it.

Well my guinea hatch was not as successful as I would have liked. between some clear eggs and a temp spike one day, I had only 3 of 12 eggs hatch... 6 were from jim and 6 were shipped. Jim two of yours made it and one from the shipped. they hatched yesterday and I candled the remaining eggs and they are a no go... Cute little buggers... based on what I am seeing, it looks like one brown and two royal purple??? the two are similar but one has whiter wings and belly and the other is creamy... And the guy who shipped the eggs said he had some fertility issues for a little while and will send me more eggs for shipping price...not sure what to do with that... I kinda want to try again, but dont really need more, but had hoped to hatch some out for friends and selling etc.... hmmmm what to do...
Here are some pics!

momma SS has taken those babies really well. Amazing those broodies are!
Oh and had my preliminary interview with the agency today... dont know what company but sounds like exactly what I had been doing before and loved it... we will see what happens. Cross something for me!

Quick post... As in NOT a Frenchie post... :D

Two of the eggs Deli gave me for Riga hatched! Riga is a momma!! A blue Orp and a black Orp with pale yellow under belly.

Off to the store!

Speaking of dogs, someone came into work yesterday with their new puppy. It was a maltese/pomeranian. And SO CUTE! Oh my gosh, that dog was adorable. Someone gave it to the lady as a tip. Not sure if she's a waitress or bartender, but she seriously got it as a tip. She had mixed feelings about it. The worst part was they brought it in before her shift was done.

Good evening! Kids just left...last day for me with the is next Friday...she says For sure...we will see. She was very upset and the kids kept asking me all day if I was going to miss them. I almost started up myself! It will be a sad day for sure...

SO am I reading this correctly? You are getting a little dog Yvette? Speaking of dogs...Frenchie, your new girl looks very similar to a client's dogs. They are white schnauzers. (OMG--I spelled that correctly without spell check!) That could very well be the cross with the poodle, and the cause of the longer nose. Very cute BTW! Congrats on your score...now you need to feed her. At least dog food doesnt go so fast with the little ones!

It was a good thing I went into the back room just now to do a photo session with the new chicks...their bulb had burned out and it was down to 88 in there! I guess that's probably room temp in here! Here they are:

I ended with 5; the black and the yellow on the ends are two that I popped in there to hatch from a nest in the barn. Might be an OE and a buckeye...I cant seem to remember which eggs I put under that hen! I need to carry a pencil and notepad in my pocket at all times I think! I do stuff on the spur of the moment and then of course CRS strikes!

Two are very yellow and the other 3 are more creamy, any correlation? Oh yeah, these are the Langshan eggs I got from Lisa.

Talk about adorable!!! And I just LOVE Their furry feet. Ky said they looked like yellow hairy spiders.

And then the session was rudely interrupted...

I HAD to get this sign at Shopko yesterday for the people....when I read it I laughed really loudly and people looked at me...I shoulda waved!
Of course I HAD to partake in the perennials clearance...do I have everything planted from the bash yet?

We had the biggest downpour while the kids were napping...now there are totally blue skies...I guess I better head out and get planting hey?
For those of you that are following the sweet potato saga they now have 4 leaves! How are yours doing Kristip, and how many did you start with?

Oh, One more thing (cause I cant have my post be that much shorter that Frenchie's...even though the story was QUOTED enough so I saw it 4 times! [and probably will see it 4 more]) When I fed the dogs tonight Liam was helping and I took a scoop of "prime cuts in gravy" out of a new can and asked him if he wanted a taste. He looked at me and said, "Terri, I dont eat DOG meat!" OMG I almost blew a gut laughing! I said it was beef and he said, "beef?" Too funny.

TerriOstillchucklingathisstatement!

FRENCHIE- I love your new little girl!!! Did you catch the story on tonight's news? One of the vets at the Antigo clinic got busted. Turns out he's a junkie and was stealing pain meds from the animals, even possibly from the surgeries!!! Hope he not only rots in jail but he loses his license to practice!!!
Haven't went there myself since my little girl came home terrified and partially paralyzed nt her front leg after her spay. That was after the great vet retired and sold the practice to a lady vet from??? Should have known better when all the other vets quit within months of her taking over. I wonder if the junkie was working there then? G__ I hope not, my poor puppy!!!

Sandi, you are such a sucker for a poodle. Thank goodness chickens don't come in poodle mixes, because that mixed with chicken math could cause a REAL problem!!!

I think you should name that little girl Starlet after the Hollywood scene. Star for short. She's very cute!

I am sure the others will hatch. Congrats on her finally getting some chicks.

I wonder if I will get 5 toes..time will tell.
I hope I picked Blue Wheaten eggs too. Pretty birds.

No, Terri, I'm not taking that puppy. If I do get a smaller sized dog it will be a Westie, sheltie or a Boston Terrier. My ex and I had shelties (and an Old English Sheep Dog) so my husband automatically hates them. But they are my favorite. I'd love a collie x golden retriever too.
