Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cochin chicks are finally out if the house just in time for a torrential downpour. At least I have a good excuse not to be out working now. Had to cull one of the Black Copper Marans this am due to broken leg. The french roo is starting to breed already which seems early for. BCM at 4 months, he just started cockadoodlin' yesterday.
My white Cochin Bantams finally started laying that I got from Yvette last year.
And I wouldn't mind at all helping build for anyone as long as it wasn't a super huge building.

Just checked my FF and I forgot to stir it for a couple of days. There is a white bubbly film on the top. Is that mold ? Or do you know if it is safe? I tasted it.... YUK, very very sour !!
I do have ACV in it.

I wonder if that white film could be that LABS that Deli talks about? May be skim it off and keep it till you know...?
skimming it off will not remove it if it is mold,, mold sends out tentacles throughout the mixture..
the slime on top is what is in the mixture.. just stir it in and Sandi, quit eating it..

We had a nice rain just before noon.. It looks like it is going to be an on again off again sort of rainy afternoon.. OK with me.. all I was going to do was start burning out a stump.. and I did not water in the 3 new plants last night, so that is taken care of, too..

I cannot get the tiny tiller to start.. and I discovered that there is a drip drip drip leak right where the fuel line leaves the tank.. I thought the new fuel line was a bit skimpy on diameter when I put it on.. F&F should have the heavier line.. I think there is water causing a short somewhere and grounding out the spark plug..

Sandi, the peacock pen is south of the house, and the GH is east of the house past the tree line on the edge of the field..

Had a great vacation up north, hubby caught a nice musky while fishing for crappies, and landed it with 6lb test line. We also have alot of crappies in the freezer now too, going to try again this weekend before they quit biting.

My daughter who lives in CA ran into Clay Matthews in the grocery store, so she had a picture taken with him just for me...

I love him... lol... glad I wasn't with her, I would bout died...

We picked 4 flats of strawberries last night at the Clintonville Glendale farms... sure alot of them out there yet... they were good for freezing and will make wonderful smoothies (or daiquiri's) (or margaritas)....

What does everyone do for flies in their coops? Does the vanilla scent work? Never had it real bad, but the smaller little ones are bugging the chickens when they roost at night... not sure what kind they are, but are more like the size of fruit flies...

I did my whole wheat free diet for almost 3 weeks, and then went back to eating it. I am so tired lately and I feel like the wheat is to blame. So I'm back off of it. If my energy level increases in the next couple of weeks I'll have to permanently remove it from my diet.
I listed 4 snowy call ducks for sale before they hatched, hoping they could be picked up right out of the incubator and I wouldn't have to set up a brooder. Someone claimed them immediately. She asked when she could pick them up. I told her yesterday that they were all hatched and to pick them up today. Now she wants to pick them up this weekend :( That defeats the whole purpose of me selling them. I would have just kept them if I wanted to set up a brooder.
One of my cats has been urinating on my clothes in the bathroom again. If I knew which one it was I'd have it euthanized. These cats get fed dry food that costs $50 for 15lbs as well as very high quality canned food. I don't believe its urinary crystals this time. And if it is, I don't know what else I can do to prevent them. I am so sick of cats. I may set up surveillance to catch the culprit. Who knows what else they're peeing on that I haven't discovered.
I tried the fermented feed. It wasn't for me.

Hi Amber! Love the pics!!! What I use if I have the little flies is the yellow cardboard tacky things you hang up. Works really well for me. Just have to be sure you hang it where the girls can't run into it.

Love the kitties and chickies and even the cupcakes! Never did make strawberry season around here. Called around and most places where done,or closed early due to rainy fields.
Well my summer home with kids lasted two months instead of all three...just got a temp to hire job offer starting on August first. Had a second interview today nd told them that was my ideal start date, but could start earlier. They called and offered me my ideal schedule starting in August. And I will not need day care once kids go back to school. So very awesome! Enjoy the kids but also some sanity time.

Now to finish all the landscape projects and painting projects before that...ou vey...wish I had a Jim around here to to projects!

Baby guineas and their momma surrogate went into general population this week at three weeks old. They were jumping out too much. Looks like we have three or to different colors of the three chicks. THey are pretty cute!

BBP your cat is upset about something...... either make it an outdoor cat or spend the $$ on Feliaway (thanks BigFam). It takes a while but eventually it does the trick....... that and a LOT of enzyme spray...... and remembering to keep the friggin bathroom door shut!

I have ONE cat that likes to make her presence known in that way........ of course she will probably end up being the very LAST cat I put down of this quartet.

Good job on going GF! I keep thinking I should give it a try but that cupcake place is just up the road from where I work..... and I just LOVE bread. I think paleo is more my style, meat fruit and veggies with limited grains......

Mamma Robin has now taken to divebombing anyone entering her area (the front porch).....

Frenchie I cannot believe you tasted that FF! I hope you manage not to have the runs or the upchucks for your sleep test tonight!

Yes I motivated myself just enough this morning and knocked off appx. 2.5 mi run while my youngest DS was at TKD. I think you could have wrung out my clothing when I was finished......

Stopped at the farmer stand and picked up a doz ears of sweet corn, some fresh wax beans and some tomatoes. All of your chit-chat about BLT's makes me want some for dinner. I also grabbed a watermelon..

All of you up by Antigo hit your basements. Tornado warning for your area!
