with having a recent outbreak of cocci, putting them on a maintenance dose of Corid might be a smart move for safety. I know many do it for 15 days. I have no idea what the dosage is.

Hi folks,

nice cool day in the north, spent 4 hrs on the tractor brush hogging the 3 miles of roads. DD is on the rider working on the lawn,,,,looks better amazing what $50 worth of gas does for cleanup,,,

better egg production today from the pullets and 1yr olds, older girls better come to the party soon

It is finally raining and cooling off. It feel so good too.

We finally used the ice cream maker attachment for my Kitchen Aid mixer. It's pretty yummy! I had a brownie with ice cream and caramel and now after dinner I had a root beer float. It's so much better than store bought. We just made vanilla, but next time we'll do strawberry.

WOW JJ--I guess I stumped all...they just dont know what to say? Been a while sine I posted that....

I sold a bunch of Orpingtons to a friend of DH's a few months ago, and they never put them under heat, needless to say they died the first night. Now DH wants me to replace them.

Not sure I want to give more of my birds to someone who has little knowledge of chicks. They have chickens, they just never had new baby's.

Deli, while I agree with Jim about replacing a few, I would make it clear that the only reason you are doing so is because they are "friends." Anyone getting chicks should understand what they need to do...that is just a terrible waste of life IMHO!

Frenchie, I do all of that stuff myself and I have children.

OH BBP--I hear ya on that! I just had that discussion with DH today...something WILL change...(even If it is me that has to move out!)

good morning,, and good snag on those strawberries,, If it were me, I would not put all of them onto the ground.. strawberry patches are very difficult to maintain.. keep a hanging basket or two . you might have to water them more, but that is much easier than fighting weeds.. If we did not have a strawberry farm right across the road, I would do strawberries again,, but this way is much easier..

I found a thing on Pinterest Cind and they had an arbor of strawberries! It was like gutters on a 2x4 structure and the plants hung down...HAY IS HERE!
JIm I must have mised the HEE HAW thing--we watched it some when I was a kid...always thought it was kinda dumb...but I was young, probably missed all kinds of stuff!
OK--I am back. I tarped and set up the elevator for tomorrow at 2pm...my friend Peggy(and JJ's

) is coming to help. Only 90 bales so not too bad. I am trying my best to get several more loads for the first weekend in August when the CUtie Clan is coming for the weekend! THey seem to LOVE to unload hay! (and Scott has the know how AND the muscles too

) I have been tossing about in my tiny brain about having a campfire party for the weekend...if anyone had read this post so far let me know what you think! Kind of a BYO party thing...camping in the yard, a little fire and company....

Just candled the 12 left in farm innovator and 4 more dead so took last 8 of 41(they look iffy) and put in Brinsea and shut that one off. Called friend and told her to throw it out and buy her a Brinsea!
