Nice Afternoon All... I kinda like your double posts CC....sure wish I received a double bank deposit every time I made one...that would be sweet!

Nice pics, thanks for sharing them.

Busy here with the freezing of the garden and fish. I love Summer! Life at it's best.

I prefer the bushes completely cut off. It's not like I'm gonna see the neighbors.LOL...

FT: I think you asked awhile ago about the above the ground pool-and I dont think I amswered: All I can say at this point is ARGHHHHHHHHH

Chickenship added shock one morning and by that afternoon the pool was GREEN!!!! Turns out we have a lot of copper in our well water, and we have been battling this for the past 2 weeks unable to use the pool at all. Finally almost had the color back to normal but the PH is so high we cantt get it down and as soona s we add shock it turns green again. We are about to give up and its frustrating to spend this much money and time and ot able to even enjoy it. The metal stuff we added helped but we have added 5-6 times the amount suggested before it even began to come down.

good aft, Nephew is gone, the gutters are repaired,, the siding is put on where it was ripped off, and the soffit and facia are repaired,,

AND, I think the tiller is repaired.. I found a place to add grease to the lower unit.. I test ran it, and it worked,, Now I just have to give it a good workout and see if it seizes up when it gets warm..

I know one thing.. It sucks gas like it was related to Standard Oil.. typical 2 stroke..

Annie has found 3 guinea nests in the last 2 days.. Looks like over 3 dozen eggs for the bator..

I sold 6 old hens today. got $4 each.. still have a bunch more to get rid of.. we have 5 good roosters, not counting the young ones growing up.. I think heads are going to roll soon..

CC, just where would you suggest she take the rooster for a meal ??

. I have no idea how you both manage to do what you do with little help.
A whole heckuva lot slower, that's for sure! And a real wonderful hubby helps an awful lot too.

Even when they're being not so lovable, hey Frenchie?

Someone newer posted a couple questions about carrying young roo & older roo went after her & pecked her sis's hand. Yes, that is aggressive roo behavior & needs to be nipped in the bud ASAP. Otherwise, I unfortunately would have to recommend dinner, if you aren't opposed to that idea. I absolutely love animals, but there are many nice roos out there & there is no reason to have to put up with a mean one, esp. if you have kids or other people coming over/helping with chores. Sometimes they are just mean, and you sure don't want to be breeding him. I don't know if attitude is genetic or not, but if you have little ones around, why take the chance? As for your hen "quacking", are you sure she doesn't have a respiratory issue? Or is she a pullet coming into lay? They start making some odd noises when they are about to lay an egg.

That was me, thanks for the response! We have the ten young ones (4-6w) in a large wire dog crate inside the coop yard and bring the crate into the coop at night. The ducks seem more interested than the 2 older chickens (10w). Roo has pretty much been ignoring them. The hen goes right up to the wire and will go face to face with a baby, she seems friendly. Will watch her close for respiratory issues, but I think she's sounding more normal.. Maybe it was from the heat... Or being a teenager. I am excited for our first egg relatively soon lol.
Not against a chicken dinner, but I think my sister is LOL.. so we will see how Roo behaves. I'm sure we have some more boys in the bunch of babies, so we will have to figure something out!

I scraped and shoveled and hosed and squeegeed the coop today. Gross job! New floor will go in soon.. Need to get it done by Thursday for sure, since hubby is coming home from NJ and I will have to stay home a couple days! Headed to Tractor Supply in mukwonago in a few... Need diatomaceous earth. Sister's dogs have the most resistant fleas ever (frontline, pills, and spray for the house) and they still have live ones on them. After sleeping two nights there, I have dozens of welted up flea bites (on top of my skeeter bites!). Not fun.

If you give up, I'll take that pool.
