Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good evening all
So sorry to hear about your cat Stacy.
Went out to dinner last night with my family with my sister and SIL birthdays. Went to Green Bay for Irish food. Don't ask me why... But no it was good. Attempted to leave my two boys 10 and 9 stay home "alone" Not really alone b/c DH was milking in the barn, but still sort of alone. Well it didn't last long. THere was a severe thunderstorm warning for our corner of Manitowoc county, and my 10yr old called me about 5 times before I got to GB. Well my nephew was watching my two littles, DD6 and DS4, and called to tell me that the cops were at his house because there were funnel clouds going over. That did it! I had him go out and pick up my little honeys. They were kind of disappointed because they were feeling so big, but I was too scared. Maybe another time.
I need some advice on my broody hens. A few of my girls has been broody since we got home the beginning of the month. She has been sitting on eggs, but they always end up broken. I put one of them in their own coop, but she freaked out and never sat on the eggs again. I gave one of the girls more eggs to replace the broken ones, but they just end up broken again. I would like to have some hatch before it gets too late in the summer, but it just doesn't seem like it is going to happen. Any suggestions?

"naysayers" (first tawdry,,,now this?)

I've almost always had a cat, do now, enjoy them most of the time

how do you tell if they are mentally handicapped?

Judge I didn't mention your garden, I really like the diagonal planting, very cool. I won't discuss your weed free condition,,,just wayyy to clean. The harvest to date reflects the work you have put in it, very nice

Judge,

You need to find out why the eggs are breaking first.

Stacy,

It sounds like your cat had a nice long life and was loved.

How do you feed your cats when its job is to kill mice?

Well for starters he couldn't walk without tumbling in a circle, if he went to jump onto the couch he would jump nearly over it. One great thing is he could never jump on cupboards or dig in places he shouldn't like the garbage. However you couldn't let him in the bathroom or he'd unroll a whole role of tp whenever you forgot to close the door. I took him to the vet in 99' to get neutered and the vet said because of being so inbred he was mentally challenged to put it lightly.

The outside cats gets leftovers otherwise they get to hunt for their food. Which thankfully 2I days ago one in caught a weasel trying to get in my Lav Orp and Sussex coop. I've also never had a problem with them and my chickens, they all eat together.

Judge, maybe the egg shells are too thin? or very heavy footed hens. If they all are breaking, maybe you have an egg-eater.

Speaking of Nekoosa, where the hay is DrH???

Its my opinion that all siamese cats are mentally handicapped. I've owned 2 in my life and they weren't quite right. The one would scale right up the doorway with his claws stuck in the wood. Like one of those guys in those lumberjack contests that shimmy up the tree (or pole).

Vicki and Amy- how do I tell? And would a different chicken go into her nest and eat the eggs?

Thanks Dan. How very nice of you to say. It's a lot of work but I really enjoy it. Relaxing break from these crazy kiddos :).

Two questions: (1) does the bottom have wiring also? (2) the corner triangle area, is it elevate off of the ground or just for providing shade?
