and TOMORROW never comes..

AWWWW--poor Colton! Now you will hardly be able to sleep for another night! DOnt sleep through the morning now...you will miss him again!

Good evening! What a day. I spent much of it in the garden (mine) pulling weeds so the veggies can grow. Found a nice head of cabbage, some zucchini, a few jalapenos, a pepper, green beans and dug all the garlic! We had the same for supper--with some additional new potatoes, a tomato and some swiss chard. YUM!!!! I sauteed it all up in butter and olive oil. SO delicious. I did have a bit of a hard time digging the garlic cause I waited a few weeks too long so many of the stems were already gone. I kind of had to guess but I think I got most of it. The little cloves l planted last summer from the scapes actually grew into heads...well, some of them--the rest made just one huge clove! The stuff I got at the fall bash in the white elephant turned out great. Some of the heads are as large as the ones you get in the store. It was weird cutting uncured garlic...kind of like cutting an apple.

The leg of the Rouen seems to be healed. He was walking pretty well today. I am planning on taking the splint off of his leg tomorrow. Hopefully he will be OK.

Two more ducklings dead the last 2 days...I sure wish I could figure out why...or what they are getting into! No signs of anything wrong with them either...weird.

BBP--that cat looks just like the feral we have living in the milk house. Must be a common color scheme Hey? Ours is a girl though. We got her through Dane County Ferals. SHe cam along with her daughter but that one got hit by a car early on in the endeavor. I have tried to get others here but the one we have must run them off or something. Speaking of getting hit...I was here in my chair and heard something this afternoon...it was a woodchuck that got hit on it's way back to under the porch. I guess people just dont pay much attention while driving!

I am going to hit the hay...glad Noodle is doing well after her ordeal today Vickie! I guess if we didnt have chickens there would be no excitement in our lives! I can for sure hook you up with some Aussie girls this fall...the roos are just as ice as the girls too; very mellow and easy to handle.

I guess I am going to head up to bed...lots to do again tomorrow!
Sleep well! TerriO

So how did I miss the picture of TO and her dh ???

Colton...keeping fingers crossed for you

Turned in my oxy meter today... so we'll see what they have to say. I wore it three nights instead of one.. So we shall see what they say. I'm betting it will show nothing worth writing home about and I don't get oxygen...which would be a good thing but sure would like to find something to help !!

I lost a snowy mallard today. Same thing going on here, have no idea as to why. It died in one of the dog houses that we have in there for them.
Almost ready to throw in the towel..... Getting real tired of feed bills. One thing for sure, I won't be buying any more chickens or ducks from Ideal Hatchery in Texas.
I have six healthy and vibrant guinea keets out of fifteen. They are all eating and drinking (water Jim) and getting feathers.

Tomorrow go to Cardiologist. Don't remember why???? LOL Oh and a blood test to see if my BUN test has improved. Had to make an appointment for ET to have his hand checked out. The Urgent Care called on Saturday to see how it was doing after he managed to shoot a nail into it with the power nailer last week.

Other then that nothing new around here... Lots of old stuff... Like fences falling down..... that need repair. The horses have eaten their small pasture down to almost nothing... and with the tractors post hole digger bent in half I have no idea how we are going to get more posts up.
I told ET we should bring the pool back. He said it is all out of the box and getting dusty in the back of the truck.... I knew it was a bad Idea.... it should get put up by fall !!!! Things just seem to be overwhelming around here lately. The boat is still just sitting there...he hasn't gone back and tried what the guy said...Maybe tomorrow on our way to or from Rhinelander... but probably not.... SSDD...(SameSh!tDifferentDay)

Guess I'm tired and crabby. I didn't really like the cold weather over the weekend but today it got to hot all of a sudden !!!!

Wow, can't believe it's almost August !!! Where did summer go???

Had BLT's for supper, now Cali is chewing up the paper plates !!! She is a wonderful dog except she started a fight with Butt dog twice tonight when all Butt dog tried to do was walk past her while she was chewing on a bone. I reached down and picked Cali up by the skin on her neck and gave her HE!! with a Capital H... You don't pick on my Old dog Butt Dog or Dolly Dog !!! When she did it again, she got picked up again the same way but not so gentle.... She was really getting into it... TG there was no blood. Otherwise she is a lover, she came up to me about 5 minutes later and was kissing up !!!

Anybody watch the Bachlorette tonight ?? Des reminds me of when I was young.... Smart Woman... Foolish Choices..... LOL

Now she's playing gently with Halo the Kitty. They are about the same age... I knew they would get along well. Cali is very jealous of the other two girl dogs, she loves her lovin but they are seniors and she will have to learn to share !!! lol Couldn't be happier with her otherwise. Love love love my poodles !!!

Hey VickyW, wasn't quit sure what you meant about being a Frenchie post !!! LOL Cause you thought your post was long ? OR You couldn't watch while the deed was being done ? OR You had a Fee Ask Co going on at your place today? Do you think the cat caused hurt Noodle ?

Ok, gonna go watch Jimmy Kimmel, he looks good tonight... growing a beard and just got married last week....

So pretty and you are an angel for trying to give him a better life (and a less " productive" one). Tamed my first kitten when I was about 8. More heart than sense at thAt age. This kitty was truly feral and nearly shredded me before I finally tamed her!
x2! I'm glad he wasn't as hard to tame as the one my sister found. He broke into the top of her covered chicken run and killed one of her banty hens (they never get the roos). She cornered it & caught it but it was a wild thing, hissing, biting and clawing like crazy, but luckily she had her DHs welding gloves on. She kept it in a cage for weeks trying to tame him. Finally he started to trust her. Now you'd never even be able to tell he is the same cat. He was in horrid shape, but now he is healthy, has a shiny coat and put on some weight. He even has become a "big brother" to a feral kitten she caught. They play together all the time.

Boy, so sorry to hear it hasn't been the best of days for some of you. Hugs to all who need it.

I had quite a suprise to wake up to today. I turned on the chicken cam and saw not one, not 2, but 5 hens in Moose's area that shouldn't be there (two of which are the biggest Bs I own), and no sign of the babies!

So out I go, in my jammies, flying down to the chicken run. Got inside, was shocked to not hear anything out of the ordinary (like screaming), and was immediately inundated by hungry, pesky birds insistant on their treats to the point that they would not let me past them.

Luckily I remembered to bring along some scratch to throw so they would run after it and let me by............ Stupid chickens. Anyway, there were the guilty suspects, my glutton hens, pacing the fence back & forth trying desperately to get at the scratch before everyone else ate it. I knew exactly why they were in there too. As I suspected, they completely emptied the feeder of the chick feed. Gone, empty, devoured, not a scrap left. Thankfully they did not make dessert out of the chicks. They appeared to have escaped through the gate that the hens managed to push open, and were happily dustbathing on the south side of the run where none of the other chickens ever like to go. Whew! Getting them to go back to where they were supposed to be was a whole other story. I guess a few of us had a Frenchie Monday, hmmm? I sure hope tomorrow is better! Sweet dreams, all.

Nice cool morning all!

Wanted to post here about an event on Facebook for Julie: its an online auction to raise funds for the family as she goes thru cancer treatment and can't work. There are lots of things to bid on, mostly jewelry (earrings, necklaces, zipper pulls, bracelets), some photos and note cards I chipped in, and a very cool buffalo skull painted by an artist who is a good friend of the family. There are some Packer themed and chicken items too! Proceeds go directly to Julie and her fam. Please consider joining and bidding if you're on FB to help out our fellow Cheesehead! <3

Here is the event page:

Well, as you know my young son has been working at the Ren. Fair. He was talking to his boss about camping during the shows and such. Well, he was paying $30 a day at the camp ground he was at and it was a cr@ppy one with no shade and he couldn't let his dogs out of the camper except to potty then he had to take them back in. Plus it was noisy weekend nights, when he had to work the next day. So, Son talked to us about it. We're getting $100 a week and he'll pay extra for elec. He'll even buy some fencing to make a run for is dogs that we can have when he's done. We need the money and he and the dogs will be better off. He even is going to help Son with splitting wood and other chores. Boredom is something else he hates about the campground. He already gave us $400 so it should work.
Anyway..... He made me a business offer so....

Wanted!
Turkey, goose, peacock and rooster cycle feathers! And other nice or unique feathers.
If you can send me a batch I will send you back postage and a few extra bucks. I'll do cash or money order, just let me know which. P.M. me for my addy. This could be a good project for some of you with kids for them to make a couple bucks here and there. And if your going to butcher I'll take those feather too!
This will really help me too. I will admit, with the health issues I often feel like I can't contribute to our finances. Making things for his store will bring me a few bucks and I can work at it at my leisure.
Thanks so much!!!

One of my call ducks had been limping on her right leg now last night she's having problems with the left. I don't know if the roosters are jumping her, she's hurting herself hopping out of her pool or if its diet related. Its my favorite duck (of course). I think I'll separate her and her sister and push the niacin. And make sure she spends a lit of time in water to keep weight off of it as much as possible.

Butcher day today :( why does it get harder every time?

I will be sure to look for any unique feathers around here.
