Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Yep, raining here too. Spent bunch of money on tarps to cover the nearly free hay !!!

Sorry if I jinkzed the weather !!! It hasn't been warm or hot since the day I brought my swimming pool home, which still isn't put up..... Geez talk about wasting money...

Shudder at the thought of feed prices if things don't change.... may be to late....

Bl4, Yep I'd pick the Friesian too !!! Go for it !!!! It will make going to work easier !!!!!

Jim is that in the vet's manual for what to do with a poult with a twisted leg? very enlightening

LOL--that's what it says in mine.

Quick story...I go downstairs to put some laundry in the machine and to unplug the incubator cause the quail were supposed to hatch LAST THURSDAY! I go into the room and think I hear cheeping? Cant be! Open up the bator and I find THESE:

REmember that button quail that I had to put down because of that huge tumor? She had 4 or 5 eggs in the cage so I popped them in with the other quail eggs. They were FERTILE! Unreal. I am still sitting here unbelieving. I guess I wont be unplugging for a little bit yet. One egg is zipping still. Now I am going to see what the actual incubating time is for them...

Long time lurker...maybe I should weigh in a few conversations...

I'm originally from Cudahy, but now live north of Hwy 10.
Getting back to the Cherry question-http://imbibemagazine.com/Cherry-Bounce-Recipe
Cept I use vodka.

I raise orpington chickens in 3 different colors.

I've been to the township of Stettin.
& I've frequented The Northland Ballroom in Iola for many years.
My favorite drinking establishments are No Problem Bar & Grill in Custer,
Muddy Waters Bar & Grill in Prescott (tonite-Reverend Raven and the Chain Smokin' Alter Boys are playing)
& Lake of the Torches in Lac Du Flambeau.
Oh yeah, I've been to the township of Nashville...then hit The Town Pump in Rhinelander.

Seems I like to travel for different colors of peafowl.

So some of you guys may know me? Hmmm....
Welcome to the group
Quote: I make my own laundry soap..5 gallons at a time. I actually like to make it.

I will let you know when the eggs arrive..should be tomorrow.
You might want to get a plastic tote and cut a hole in it, you can see the one I have here when you stop for your eggs. As long as her eggs are somewhere she will set them..Orpingtons love to set eggs and they do not mind being moved. For now leave her be.

pretty cute for having such a uncharismatic father.

the dottes, I think will need to pay me back with some eggs before they head for a stock pot. both pullets by the way.

is this your soap recipe too?

1 bar of Fels Naptha Bar Soap
4 cups water
1/2 cup Borax (20 Mule Team)
1 cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
5 gallon bucket
additional water to fill the 5 gallon bucket.

or do you have a different one?

TO I heard about the FDA passed a new regulation on labeling things as gluten free. Good news for a change. Horray for you!

I do not measure the water.

I just grate my bar of naphtha, and dump it into a boiling stock pot of water, stir, turn it off and add my dry soap. I let it set for a while and stir it more, to make sure it is dissolved and add it to my bucket, than fill it with water. I have a few lumps here and there, but, it works great. I sometimes add lemon peel or lavender when I boil my water..
I bought a breeding pair of crested geckos last night and while I was at work today one of them lost their tail. Darn kids.
awwww
