Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Well, to be honest you might be disappointed. It only has 3 of it's 4 racks, it has no on/off switch. That also looks like it was not well cared for. A brand new one of that model sells for around $130. I paid I think $250 FOR mine and it has 6 racks which gives me lots of room to remove racks to raise dough, dry crafts, etc. As as well as saving lots of time by allowing .e to dry a lot of the same, or different things at the same time. I also have a lot more temp flexibility. If you invest in what you really need now, your Excalibur will keep you happy for years. Besides, check their website and get on their mailing list. In the fall they normally offer great deals and throw in lots of extra goodies. THINK I just got an email from them the other day. Just an FYI, my old Excalibur, which still works great, is well over 10 years old.

Just saw JJs suggestion. For $50 it might be worth the risk.
Yes I think that with the small number of racks it won't save me much time and effort that the old round ones I have... I will just keep my eyes open

Save me from my children! Where is that cherry vodka when I need it! Teenagers and their drama!

All of you wanting to meet at the mushroom store..... how late are they open? I will be driving down on Sunday and coming back home on Tuesday. Sunday will be later since we will be leaving here around 4 ish....... and Tuesday is pretty much open for anytime....

Hoping for rain here. Every storm system that has gone through has missed us, so we have gotten little to no rain for weeks. I have been watering and hope that will entice my tomatoes to grow a bit more than they already have. I see a few fruits but not as much as I would like to see......

I have been fertilizing them too with hope they will start producing.....

The carrots, beets, lettuce and beans are looking good; the beans are starting to put on flowers. The potatoes in the pool are FINALLY up and are starting the flower as well! I am hoping for a good crop since this is a big experiment growing them in the old duck pool. The zucs are putting out one or two a week..... not great for zucchini but I can handle that!

My friend had her baby today. A BIG bouncing baby boy, 8 lbs, 9 oz, 21 ' long at 5:09 PM. Thank goodness!!! Now she can get some decent sleep!

Cannot wait to see your baby GIRL Amy!

good evening, I mowed some of the unmowed, as of yet , lawn/hayfield today.. then JimP came for his keets.. I took Marlene's to her today,, I am down to one splayed legged one in the TV. I will have to yank it's head off tomorrow..

Sandi, where did you hear that bleeding to death is like a heart attack ? somewhere on byc i"ll bet.. I have read some of those alternate methods that are more "humane" on a different thread.
You all can do it the way you want, I am going to continue my method.. If I had an electrified knife, I would do like UnkaDan said.. stick it into the roof of the mouth..

here is an invitation to all.. the next time I am butchering, and you have a better way to kill the chickens.. you are hereby invited to come here and use your method on all of the chickens I am doing that day.. no charge.. I do not get a rush by killing chickens, but nobody ever shows up to do it for me..

the tomatoes and peppers are starting to ripen more and more each day.. one of these days I might pick enough tomatoes to warrant canning a batch..

UnkaDan, Marlene's son gave me some granulated fertilizer for my corn.. He used to raise Shittaki mushrooms.. I think I will do half the patch to see if it is worth the effort..

the chicken transfer went very smoothly.. there was only one BO pullet that spooked at seeing white chickens in her bedroom.. she got over it real quick when I grabbed the net.. Now if we can get through tonight without them killing each other, we will be in like Flynn..

......My Blazer is ready to be picked up tomorrow.. the cylinder that was not firing was because the gasoline pressure was not high enough due to the leaking line.. New brake lines, new fuel lines to the tune of $375.oo.. I don't care, , a new car would cost a lot more..

.......jimgoingtosleepwiththefanontonight........
maybe this is what I was remembering.

I lost a chick today. Of course it had to be a Lav Orp. It some how got out of the nursery, out of the back shed, and INTO the big duck pool. Drown. I looked at the space available to crawl under the door, and didn't think it was big enough for a chick to get out. Guess I was wrong. Putting bricks in front of the gap again.

I do have a pair of fancy chicks coming this week. But I'm not saying what, or from where, and defo not how much. You'll just have to "be patient" (robin's favorite trait!)

Deli-you quoted my text but didn't say anything. CRS or mistake?

**** dog is barking......ok. She always gets fidgety when storms are coming.

Welcome to the numerous newbies here! Yikes. There are so many of us now. How are we gonna fit everyone at camp?

Hi All!

Jim... a little morning CRS kicked in?

Bl4....Remember saying this? "I love my days off....... it is so relaxing. Decompression before going back to the grind." How did it turn into this? "Save me from my children! Where is that cherry vodka when I need it! Teenagers and their drama! "

Bf4m..... sorry about the chick.

Guess that's it... nothing new here!

Night All!

Exhausting days. Went to state fair with mom, hubby, sister, nieces and my two kids on Monday. That's a van full.. thank goodness for ma's handicap parking. I get too stressed in big crowds, so it wasn't that fun for me. Until hubby handed me a margarita. Next time I will have to go alone, see what I want, eat, then leave lol.

Today I had a photo shoot with an old school friend, we did newborn and family pictures with her nine day old baby boy. This job sure makes me ache to be pregnant again, but a few minutes with my two year old niece addy cures that right up. :)

Better hit the hay, have to get in a better school sleeping schedule soon... not cool!

No decompression last night! Big storms moved through around 12:30! Power has been out ever since! We had kids up roaming around for a few hours, the DH even took them out to see the damage. I went back to bed! I hope all is well at the Camp!

Cind, I cannot comment on what happened here yesterday...... not yet anyway.

Ugh. No coffee this morning! I can't open the fridge either! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........
