Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

yeah, yeah, talk, talk,, where are all these brownies ??

Heather, was that YOUR picture ?? then I take it all back.. You know how I get these fake names all confused ..

I thought of two more names of people I met.. Otono (Dave) from Rib Mt. and I can't remember the name without going back about 200 posts,, but a new guy who wanted RIR .. He was here and bought some chickens from me.. I told him to come here to byc, but you guys scared him away after just one or two posts..

Heather better bring those brownies to the Bash.

Vicki that was me with the sick dog. Poor baby..... I doubt it if she found fire ants or anything else to get her....... I am completely clueless as to what she got into but glad I took the right step in giving her to benadryl. It was a long night last night for sure!

Spent the day at the UW, cleaned out the cat morgue, cleaned up the Bio prep area, got the SW tank situated. Tomorrow I am going to clean the SW tank out a bit so it looks really nice for the start of the semester. I also get to go out and pick up the supplies for our pill bug habitat and our beetle/mealworm habitat. Now all I need to do is figure out a way to keep brine shrimp alive in large quantities...... and grow elodea.....

I have to remember to grab a bar of chocolate soap for my Bio prof..... she just loves my soap and she has been really good to me so she deserves any bars I can spare.....

Jam packed day today; came home from work, ran around making dinner and doing research for the school board meeting tonight, went to the SB meeting, came home and discussed said meeting with DH and the fam. Tomorrow night is the City Council meeting........ and I have to go back to work at UW tomorrow too..... long and busy days!

Have to share what I picked tonight in the garden (my 19 bean plants)

These are an heirloom variety called Dragon's tongue. Somehow a pole bean seed managed to find it's way into the seed packet.... but no biggie, they will all get eaten.

I had some Black Krim tomatoes ripen earlier this week. I gave them to the neighbors who enjoyed them a lot! They said they were on the sweet side.... the ended up eating all 4 in one sitting!

Picked a few scallop squash tonight, gave those to my mom. She wanted them so much but with the black walnuts in her yard nothing grows well..... so I planted the few extra plants in the old duck area...... they have been doing quite well, as well and the zucchini and yellow squash. I should have planted the muskmelon and watermelon there instead.

That is it for today. Heather, cute chick, I hope you find it a playmate soon.

VickiW is gonna have a happy hubby. Getting ready for a big blow...

Jim! How awful of you to take it back! (And not really unexpected :p)

I'm not bringing nothing to the bash. They'll be gone by then! Better come have that sleep over in my camper this fall yet if you want one...

Interesting looking beans to be sure - how do they taste? Are you saving seeds? If you have extras I'd love to trade something with you for them.

Heather, if you need playmates for your chick, you can always take a drive down here.

I also have a couple lav chicks for your one striped one to play with.

130+ posts behind again.

I went back about 6 pages but the headache kicked in again. I've had it almost nonstop since Friday.

Must be from all the head banging?

On a sad note, Moose died last night.

I don't know what from. I think he was 6? Jack is still kicking, though.

Sorry if I missed anything important. It has been very busy. Stay cool tomorrow and safe from the storms. Sweet dreams, all!

I have extras left over from planting. I ordered seeds from Baker Creek heirloom seeds. I will let you know how they taste tomorrow! All of my tomatoes came from them as well.

I guess I need to call it a night! I am passing out at the computer!

Oh oh, feel better, CC! Headaches are no fun at all! Will a change in the weather or lower pollen count help your head?

So sorry about Moose!

I planted all heirloom seeds - except the corn and a few plants I picked up when they were discounted near the end of planting time. I'd like to have everything heirloom but I just love the bi-color corn.

well, I guess I am not a good role model then,, I spent every minute I could inside .. But I am no couch potato.. I have a nice recliner in front of the Television set..

Tell Scott, "yes" ,,

Later in life I learned that I have extreme reaction to drugs.. the controlled kind.. 1/2 of a sleeping pill knocks me out before I can make it to the bedroom, and I slept for about 20 hours.. that was my my one and only experience with those..

the welder never showed up.. Annie and I discussed whether I was supposed to call him.. She said "no" . sooo, being as she is always correct, and being as I am the man of the house, therefore always wrong, I did not call him.. then finally at 5 PM Annie said, why don't you call him ? WHAT !!!!!????? OK , so I did call him.. he was waiting for me to call and let him know I had the breaker all hooked up.. I don't know how to say this,, because it hardly ever happens.. but Annie,, I TOLD you so.. she still denies he said that.. her answer ,, : he must have said that outside where I wasn't,, Not this time Annie,, we were in the kitchen the whole time,, and then he left and I did not go outside with him.. but somehow, I am still wrong..

Sclark73,, all of my buildings have steel roofs, house included.. that should not make much, if any, difference in humidity .. I will not argue about this anymore.. You do what you have to do..

too hot to cook, so I made a nice chef's salad for myself for supper,, then a nice cool bowl of chocolate/marshmallow swirl ice cream .. real nutricious,, veggies and dairy,,

No VIcki, that is not the supplement Dora is taking.. I do not have the bottle down here, so I cannot tell you right now.. next time I go up I will try to remember to bring it along down..
BTW TerriO, next time you talk to , Norm ? what ever his name is,, remind him that you told me to buy that bottle, then you will get a discount on your next bottle.. If I have to tell him, then let me know.. I did have that typed in the online order blank, but as it turned out, I had to call it in.. He didn't ask, and I forgot to mention it..

Whew !! just made it under the wire,, so this will not get me the FT Longest Post award ... but you will notice, I do a lot of double spacing.
I've heard enough of your stories of the things that you do do that I'm sure you deserve your time in your recliner in front of the tv. My husband on the other hand has not! He has never mowed the lawn, fixed a broken pipe, or barely lifted a finger to help around the house and I just finally got him to clean the furnace filter after a year. The 14 yr old hangs around with me most of the time during my endevors(sp), the 12 yr old on the other hand in taking in his footsteps either sleeping or playing video games. I do most everything around the house inside and out so I will complain about his bad role modeling for my sons. Yes I know, I choose to live this life but not for much longer.

As far as the humidity goes, I wasn't arguing with you, just trying to get a solution. Looks like I'll have to pick up a new one and see what it shows.

Hi All!

momg.... Yep, those tomatoes Take up very little room dried! They don't get crumbly dry, but I use a scissors to cut them up into what I'm making. Great to add to soup, sauces, chili or almost anything that has some liquid in them. I don't keep them in oil. I have a vacuum sealer that dose jars. I put a bunch in and add one or two of those packets for freshness (I save them from pills and other stuff.) then seal them up. I found some earlier this year from 2 years ago that are just fine. You do have to make sure what ever you use that it is sealed tight! Bugs seem to love them. I want to tear up a bunch of carpet here too! Just can't afford to replace it wit anything
sad.png
If not for some gummy glue sh!t that kitchen carpet would have been gone a year ago and I would deal with the "raw floor"!!! Who in HE!! thought it was a good idea to carpet a kitchen???

Twiz... hope the rest of the day went better!

TO... Too bad about the bar. Nice pics!

BigFam... Cute chick w/slippers!

vicki.... Glad your critters are all doing better. I'm the one that that may have marek's

Burned 3 birds tonight. 2 young chickens and a guinea. Not sure about what did the guinea. One more bird is a maybe. It's limping but I saw it miss jumping onto a crate and it did one of those ouch splits! So it maybe from that.

Jim.... By the sounds of it you probably would make the trip to Colorado OK, but would sleep the whole way back! LOL A couple bites of brownie mite do it too!

Sclark.... cute chicks! Slow Down! OFF YOUR FEET!!!!! BTW, if someone doesn't know what plantain is, it's the plant in front of the second chick.

Bl4.... Interesting beans. Why so they raise Pill Bugs?

CC.... Peace to Moose... good little roo!
