Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Me and son 14 decided to storm chase for lightning photos until 4am. Come to find out I must of dozed off while converting photos as I'm still sitting here in the same spot I landed when we finally made it home. Too late to head to bed now as I'll miss my routine morning swap line that starts in 45 minutes and if I go down who knows when I'll be back up. Son on the other hand I'm sure won't be up until noon as he took a Benadryl when we got back home. Had to take him to urgent care yesterday afternoon as he broke out in a rash Wed. afternoon and we tried hydrocortisone, aloe and calamine lotion and all made it worse. ER doc said he had a Viral rash, which listed Chicken Pox which is contagious and the dr never mentioned that what he had the rest of the house could get. I think dr is off once again as no one else in house is showing any symptoms, I think he is having an allergic reaction to something he came in contact with while changing tires to put on his truck, dr said it wasn't possible, I disagree. Here is one pic I couldn't wait to share, please excuse the graininess of it as I was having a hell of a time due to the distance of the storm. BTW I never did catch it and drove all the way to the 53 freeway.

Looks like fireballs in the sky.

CS- I will pm you the recipes. Anyone else?
I'd also like the recipe especially for the jalapenos. I too have way too many scars and seems there is always a bruise too!

SClark wonderful picture ... Viral rash doesn't always mean chickenpox... Usually that's part of childhood vaccines these days... But I remember the doctor told me there are hundreds of viruses that cause rashes... Like Fifths Disease... think that one is rash on palms and soles of feet so that wouldn't account for it. Hope he gets better soon... You guys have had your share of medical issues... BTW when you had your procedure did they put you out? If so maybe your sore throat was from the tube...just an after thought... Good luck at the swap move hubby off the couch this afternoon and take your own nap!

Morning! :frow

Cindlady - night hawks? The body is robin? Sized with very long slender wings that have a wide light coloured bar across them and they can swoop and dive like a swallow. Amazing to watch so many at once. They never stay for long, only an hour or so. It's like we are a refuelling stop.

Amazing photo sClark! I love the silo in the foreground. Blew it up to get a better look and you really caught the power of the storm.

Speaking of storm, the real nasty stuff missed us just to the south, looks like Antigo May have caught it. Just 2" more rain here.

Got to go let the girls out now.

BBL.

Thanks for yet another round of kind comments on my photos. Here's another one, not the best as I was just setting up and hand held this photo but was the only lightning bolt that went up and down. I tracked this storm cloud from midnight until 3am and the only other bolts it threw were all squiggly.

I guess I could have Googled it before I asked. Basically it can be Kosher, as in it was prepared according to Jewish Law, or in the case of a pickle it is a style having nothing to do with Jewish Law. A kosher style pickle has garlic added.

Realistically, a Rabbi must bless the food also and there are strict rules in preparation. But the ingredients????? I have no idea really.

Morning

looks like it will be a nice day outside, still have lots to get done.

Almost finished our unit yesterday- probably an hour or so left that DH will be finishing up today, our youngest DS(8) had some type of allergic reaction while we were there yesterday that caused him to start coughing and having difficulty breathing- so we ended up a urgent care. They ended up giving him a neb- treatment plus Benadryl and a steroid and a 2nd neb treatment and that worked. Sent us home with neb- treatments, a couple days of steroid and an inhaler. Will be talking with his dr today and see what follow-up needs to be done. He is feeling better but they want him to rest today.

Have to get out to the garden and see what needs to be done there, probably have to pick veggies.

Best get a move on it.

Cind- we have a drop spindle, no spinning wheel.... price tag is a little to much when we are just learning. DD showed chicken, rabbits, turkeys, arts, photography & rockets, foods. DS(11) took rockets, arts, photography, legos. DS(8) took a plant, a cookie, a rocket as he was a cloverbud.

good morning,, the guinea eggs from the nest along the path are all gone.. How do the preds know when they are due to hatch ?

We had a lot of rain, no wind to speak of and not a lot of thunder..

Moving 28 keets from the TV to the brooder today..

I think Kosher pickles from the store are blessed by a Rabbi,, then the Kosher pickles people make are just Kosher flavored.. the added garlic could also be Polish style..

I have a ton of things to do today,, and I don't feel like doing any of them..

When I managed a warehouse for coca-cola, it was always a hassle to get the rabbi to come in and inspect the production of the kosher product for passover, and then pray over and bless a few hundred thousand cases of soda, just so it could be sold as kosher.

The other employees and I always coveted the kosher coke, because it had to be made with cane sugar instead of corn syrup.

During passover two years ago a rabbi and his son came to the farm for the afternoon milking for several days. They wanted milk and he was there to make sure that everything was prepared properly. I learned so much and really enjoyed having them here.
