Sounds in the Night

WOLF - http://www.boomerwolf.com/wsounds.htm

COYOTE - http://www.soundboard.com/sb/wild_coyote_sounds

The howling I heard last night sounded more like wolf but I also heard one similar to the coyote's moonlight howl without the barking and not as high pitched.

it just now turned red but has not crowed, mated or layed an egg yet.
Maybe it's like one of those "Boygls" that I got form H&R. She had some line of Wellies (I think) that some males had the coloring of females for a while and then developed odd coloration like a male. Never crowed, never mated, never laid...I always called them "Silent Roosters" when I got one. SOmetimes when the main roo is gone they would develop ant turn into "real" roosters...it is odd when it happens for sure!

These sounds were neat to hear. We dont have too many wolves around here--there are a few occasionally though. I have a story very like yours Cuties. When I worked at the shelter we brought a hybrid in and had to keep it in the back too. No one was allowed to go back there and go into the pen EVER. I think it was also a bite case--cant really remember. The only thing I do remember about it was once I had to bring in a stray after hours and when I unlocked the door it started howling. I still get goosebumps when I think of that sound! It was so eerie...I couldnt wait to get out of there that night!

I think I shall head toff to bed...sleep tight! TerriO

Hi All!

I've seen quite a bit about 3D printers. Very, very cool but you can also see the dangers in it if just about anyone can get one. Not only can people make things like plastic guns ( Criminal Minds just did an episode about that.) but what happens to many kinds of manufacturing? If you can make it yourself at home, why go and buy it? Cost would be a factor for a while, but you know how it goes, they will get cheaper and better with time. I think the money would be made with writing pattern programs for them. And of course, you think we have allot of plastic waste now! Sure would be cool to have one though!
I never thought of someone Making one! LOL

I think I mentioned before that when I was a kid we had a hybrid. Yes, we were lucky, he was a very good boy, very smart and well behaved. Even at that, we did respect his wolf side, even playtime was tempered as not to rile him up too much. We were breeding German Shepards at the time (no we didn't breed him) and when a ***** was in heat we pretty much left him alone. We only had one incident when someone got hurt and that was only because he thought he was protecting me. My stepbrother came home from collage and Kazan had never met him because we got him a few months after he left. Anyway, we were in the yard and my brother was horsing around with me and started to tickle me hard. I was laughing and screaming and Kazan thought I was being attacked. He climbed that 8' fence and went after him. He did bite my brother (I think twice) but my dad got him off pretty quick. He was trained pretty well and released on command. Again I will say, we were lucky. We had him kinda "dumped" on us and we became his "pack" quickly and he knew his place and we were smart enough to know ours! My folks made sure I worked with him right away to show "pack order".

vickie..... Glad you had such a good day! I hope the benefits work out as planned.

BL4.... Glad your feeling better!

Frenchie must have internet issues again, at least that's what I hope is keeping her off. Hope some of "the others" start showing up again too.

Well, bed time.... Night All!

Vicki, I am glad you had such a good day!!

Cind, I had a friend that also had a hybred. They were not near as responsible. She got pregnant, and they sold those pups as dogs. I always stayed away from her when I wass over. Even at such a young age I could sense the vibe. They kept two pups. When they began hunting as a pack, the nervous ghbors poisoned them. It was so sad. They made it home but died on the way to the vet. It amazed me that their golden retrievers hunted with the three wolves.
I wish I had been older and stronger to voice my opinion.
Teri, I also did late night drops durring that time. Our isolation room was small and echoed. It that sound is included in my night mares :'( feel very badly for those animals. Being kept so irresponsibly.

Ok, back to chickies!! All is well. No husky kills all week! And I am sooo excited for light brahmas this friday! Scott must be too :) he got the breeder pens finished last night♡

I forgot to say that I picked up an E-cig for the hubby yesterday! He is enjoying it immensely, and looking forward to not smoking any more.

Congrats to Ross! I hope he can kick the habit for good! I am glad you got that for him to help the situation...hopefully it works. My friend went back to regular smoking...it made me sad.

Have a great day folks! TerriOhopingtogetsomethingdonehere

Hi all-been MIA enjoying the last few days/weeks of warm weather!

Congrats to all the winners at the show! I am sure a lot of hard work went into preparing!

Babylady: Congrats on getting hubby to try an e-cig, what did he end up with?

BBP: Those 3D copiers are creepy!

DH has been running one of those 3D printers at his work for over 5 years. The plastic material is crazy expensive, and most likely will stay that way to keep the average person from putting the dollar stores out of business, as Cind said.

The intricate details they can produce is amazing, though.

Mel, congrats to your DH on the E-cig! I hope he sticks with it. Good for him!

Welcome ejb to the Cheesehead thread! Glad you joined us! We have some friends from MI on here too from time to time, right, TOMSKI? Where ya been, man??????

Nothing new here. Chickens in full molt (I wish my birds looked as good as your roo in molt, Del), and lots of canning keeping me busy, plus everything else. Loving this weather!

It's the wily coyote, and I'm sticking to my story....show me a wolf, and make me believe otherwise.

Hope you all had a special day....
