Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I do not give my bird drugs unless i absolutely have to. I take fecal into the vets office once a year. I have had one positive test. I feed my birds garlic, pumpkin, BOSS, oregano, and Fermented feed. Those things promote good intestinal flora and keep the birds well balanced and keeps the worms from taking over.

With a fecal and knowledge on what it is I am up against, I will not be giving ineffectual drugs and make the system worse instead of better. Drugging willy nilly can throw off the birds and the cycle continues threw the life of your whole flock. You end up drugging and treating forever and it never stops.
This is just my opinion. and it works for my personal flock in the area I live in. I free range my flock and do not confine in small areas so it might not work for someone else.
Very good advice here. It is amazing how well animals do without interference from their well-meaning owners.

I wish I would have listened to tuat advice better. Mine never even had worms. I just got freaked out about it! Shouldnt have. I had scott put that chick down. He didnt get worse. But being confined and fed good ff and electrolytes and the garlic mix he did not n improve.

Rainy Afternoon All....Welcome to the new folks, hope you enjoy your visits here!

I'll be waiting for you to post your pics cuties. I'm also totally pleased with the Brahmas I bought from Mark. He has the best stock available, hands down. I'll post pics of mine when jennie stops by to help. They are truly the finest quality. I'd just kill to have a trailer set up like his. He is King! For those that aren't familiar with Mark Peterson, he is an APA Grand Master Exhibitor with over 2760 points.

Sounds like they have over 1,000 entries for the west central show today. I wish I coulda stayed overnight yesterday and made the show. It was a 3 hour drive one way and a stayover would of been so much fun. Maybe next year.

Keep dry, if that's possible. The huge Colorama Horse weekend is going on now by me. What a crummy weekend for it....I'm surprised none of the horse people on here make that event. It is literally acres and acres of camping, horses, trail rides, and entertainment.

Have Fun, bigz
