Blustery Afternoon All... Jennie stopped by this afternoon and took a couple pics of the light brahmas. I took my big wash tub and placed it in the basement by the North wall and filled it with carrots and sand....hope they keep for me this way. Loved the elite chickenfarmer jj....wish I had a neighbor like that for certain moments..lol! Here is the trio... those are some Buckeye pullets in the background....this is a pic of bigz next.... I'll share a pic of each pullet also... one more... I have to thank jennie for the help...thanks jen! Hope you all have a great weekend.....where does the time go? Brownie is amazing!! He is just 6 months. We are training him to walk good for sydney. He is doing quite well. She put a rope on him the other day to teach him to get used to a harness. He bucked all over! It was sooo cute he is already getting use d to it. She makes him pick up his feet every day. He is very tolerant.

Carol on here has offered us a cart and harness!!! We just need to find a day that works for us to get together!

Oh how cute a baby. Be careful with that kicking. Even those little ones can pack a wollop !! lol
You've got plenty of time to drive him. You don't break a horse for driving until they are 2 yrs old at least and 4 for riding because of the joints not closing or something like that. I have no idea what the age is for mini's.
Here is something you might find helpful. They have dvd's on Mini's too.

DH went to my friend's house today to cut some wood--he said not to ever "volunteer' him to cut wood there again! I guess he ended up hauling all the leftovers to the neighboring farm. Probably raking the yard too! Well we got a 1/4 pickup box full...and he has a short box!

Oh well--at least she will stop asking me about it now!

Had a nice time at the dog park today with the new foster. We did lose her at the end...she seemed glad to be found again! I forgot my camera...dumba$$. I even charged the battery! But they were so tired when we gt home that I got to snap a few pics:








The new foster is the third pic...brown and white terrier. I will try for a better one later! Gotta serve dinner!

We were driving up to the bd swap. And right in front of was a trailer with the cutest littlest horse we had ever seen!! Of coarse we bombarded the poor lady as soon as we parked lol the kids were immediately in love. We were oohing and awwwing. And scott asks the lady if she will take $20 to hold him. We were flabbergasted!!
Syd did her very best not to be antsy while we were looking at chickens. And when we went back, he bought him!! We brought him home in the back of the truck!
Both his parents were all white with spots he has a speckled bitt lol and a blue eye!
He is so sweet. Everyday when we get home, he comes running! It only took us the first day to train him not to run away. I learned how to do that from Terri!
I can see what everyone means about how stubborn they can be. But syd is learning how toake him listen. She ties a towel around him. Says he will be used to a saddle.
It is so sweet to see.
I am sure it is because he is new and exciting. But she is up before 6 everyday to take care of him. Ab d puts him in every night. I am proud of her.and happy for her.

Hello every one
I just wanted to share with all of you the four roosters we have that need a new home before winter or my dads gonna "deal" with them It was unfortunate that 4 of the 5 chicks we hatched this spring were roos.

Three are Road Island reds and the other is an americana/EE

they were raised by the mother hen I placed the eggs under. They are some what tame and would come up to you for food but other than that they tend to avoid people.

I would hate for these lovely and cute roosters not to have a long life but if they cant find a home soon thats gonna happen so please help they are free to a good home! So ask you're family and friends if they need a rooster or roosters.

BigZ is a very handsome roo! "Life is like a roll of toilet paper...the closer to the end you get...the faster it goes!" So True!

Delish... Sure hope that works to keep the hawks away! I also hope that owl is weighted real good! Mine blew over a few times and it was 1/2 full of rocks.

Fxzi... Hope you find homes for your roos. Most of us have more than we need. I have a bunch of real pretty ones now that are going to freezer camp.

Cindllady..... cute cartoon !!! How appropriate since the topic of the day was roosters. Yep we all know what having to many roosters is like.... only some of us don't send them to camp

Well I got one 3 gallon of apples peeled, and cooked down for the most part. Putting them outside til tomorrow. I just couldn't stand any longer today. My good hip, well actually it isn't good but the hip on my leg side is really starting to hurt. Geez talk about the toilet paper unrolling fast !!!

So anyway, I have one more 3 gallon bucket of apples and 2 big bushel baskets full. The apples I cooked today didn't have to much flavor, might have to add sugar to the applesauce. Does anyone know if you can add splenda ?? Or half Splenda and half real sugar ? Brown Sugar? What about cinnamon ? Geez I'm bad, must not have paid attention to anything when I was young and single..... to interested in men !!! Glad that phase has passed !!! LOL

Cuties, that is such a cute story !! A memory you and your family will cherish forever ! I love the truck part !!!! LOL That is going to be one spoiled mini ! He is a mini right ? Or a pony ? Cutier then Sh!T that is for sure !!

Delish, I totally forgot your recipe for the ACV and I ended putting the peels in a huge jug (plastic) that we got from a restaurant. It had vegetable oil in it. Took me forever to get the oil film out of it. Then I put the peels in it and covered them with water and then put half of a small bottle of ACV with the Mother in it. So what do ya think ? Tomorrow when I peel some more apples should I add the peels and the hot sugar water ? Or start a new batch. This jug is at least 2 maybe 3 gallons. I do have some half gallon mason jars I could put it in but I thought these just would work out good unless they might leach something ?

Cindlady.... I don't think I am going to go back and read hundreds of posts so I you don't mind filling me in on your son ???? Sounds like he was in the hospital ? (((Hugs))) to you and him !!! Ah what the heck,,,, a (((hug))) for your hubby too !!! LOL
