I do not think I will be making it to the party tomorrow, as much as I would love to see all of you I do not think I can be gone that long with just kids trying to get the pooch here to mind and I am still waiting to see the 'aggression' he has so I do not quite trust him yet. He has bonded to me now, poor guy. He follows me everywhere.

you should come and bring him..just keep him leashed and in the car when we are in the house.

No not our first chickens or ducks.

The chicks were a special deal through the hatchery. 50 males, 50 straight run of heavy breeds. Hatchery choice of breed(s). We have 101 Barred Rocks. They have quieted down a bunch now that they are in the warm garage under three heat lamps.

THis made me chuckle...since barred rocks are pretty sex-able at hatch I am guessing that you have about 75-90 cockerels and a few pullets!

Dont ask me how I know this....looks like a butchering party at your place this spring hey?

Hope everyone is well. I am in San Diego this week. The weather is awesome. Not looking forward to getting back to the cold.

Ditto on those eagle pics! WOW! You never realize how big they actually are...but only 12#, really? Lucky you are in the warm weather...we are supposed to have in the teens next week around here!

Hey TO, we got the kittens spayed this week, and the tortie was not pregnant. She's just squatty and plushy.

Squatty and plushy...what a great description! I have yet to get the two in my barn in to be spayed! I wanted to have them done by the time Vicky came so she could take them both home with her! Did I mention that this has crept up quickly?

I am glad she wasnt pregnant just the same!

OK--so much for a short post...DH came home and got the wood stove going and brought me a NEW POPCORN POPPER!

SO that is what I am making tomorrow. I was going to make some apple crisp. Maybe some hot cider?
Oh yeah...Mellissa---COME DOWN! You can bring the new dog...no problem. I have a kennel she/he can go into if the dog isnt a climber. Or a place to tie out if that is better. Or just a wire crate. All the dogs can play in the yard and maybe yours can put a few of mine in their place? (I dont have any kids here for it to bite!)

I'm not sure if I'll be able to find them, but if I can...TO do you have a propane grill? I was thinking about grilling asparagus & pineapple.
