Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

CC-I haven't started adding it yet. With the police searching through the yard, it is making it hard to get to the critters. I check on them all really early and very late. Yesterday was the 1st time that the police didn't come around, but the darn chickens didn't want to come out in the snow!

FYI-there was a homicide a block from my house and the K9 dog tracked the suspect into and through my yard. The police suspect that he threw the gun into the ravine on our property. I am waiting to hear more. I do not know if they have recovered the gun.

Scary bizness!

Hi All!

Has anyone here tried using Rooster Booster?

I am so glad the temps are back in the 40s for the rest of the week-I have too many girls in the middle of a molt!
I have used it if the chicks can't get out in the grass. It has B12 and some biotens they miss from the grass. It is great for slkies and I have not had wry neck at all since I use it on chicks.

Delish-do your chickens just eat the pellets? I have been adding some to the FF I give, hoping it breaks down and they wont notice. Otherwise, how do we make sure that they are all getting some of the RB? And not jsut chucking it on the floor bedding?

This is NOT what I wanted to quote...I wanted to quote the new person about the wind and the sun. What you should do is set up a wind break for your chickens so they can sit against it in the sun. You could use straw bales or even a piece of plywood againt a couple of T posts. Just make it so the morning sun is shining against there. They will go and get out of the wind and enjoy the sunshine. This is what mine do in the morning at the base of their building. "chicken spa!" BTW--WELCOME! Chickens make me happy too!

Been home for anhour...guess I better get outside and lock up. I think I would rather go to bed! LOL! Been a while since I have put in a 7 hour day on stuff that I didnt WANT to be doing!

Have a great night! TerriO

I put a tablespoon in a glass jar on the counter with hot water. It sort of dissolves. I add that hot water to the FF I have in a bowl for the chicks. I do add dry to make it like oatmeal.

Our friend just came and picked up her bee hives. They ship south tomorrow to be leased out to an orchard. She gave us 6 quarts of honey for letting her keep them here. What a deal! Angiebubs, I will try to get her to bring some hives to your house next spring.
