Huntress...Congrats on the free bear meat! We really enjoy it here. The roasts are really goodie and make the whole house smell wonderful when they are roasting. Lucky for you, and I hope your customer never finds out what quality meat he just gave away...LOL!

Really nice to meet you and your hubby and mom Irishrovr.....wish we coulda talked more. Maybe you can make the bash next year, even for a couple hours. Thanks for the support of the chicken dinner....we didn't let anyone know that the main menu was chicken...LOL!

Cuties...sounds like you are filling that barn right up. The B's are doing great. I have them in with the buckeye pullets. Everyone is getting along great. You just gotta love those clumbsy males. He is quite the boy!

Cind....I'm trying my darndess to get er done. I'm blaming it on slow and old...it better happen this week or I'll be hunting late season. I think I'm becoming part tree...I'm almost grafted!

We feed the birds leftovers....sometimes it chicken...they love all the scraps we share with them.

Almost forgot..we served 359 folks at the chicken dinner. Suzie made 2 pumpkin pies and a mince meat. The mince meat was a hit. Not a lot of folks make those anymore.

Bigz- no Tammy wasn't with my crew, but I can imagine her face when you told her! When she realized there were chickens at the bash she flipped out too, she doesn't like chickens live. The police were out again today looking for the gun. I'd just like them to find it so the kids can play in the woods again.

I was supposed to send the rescue pics of the pooch and fill out some forms. So far I have sent the pics and now just waiting for the forms to be sent........ I hope they contact me soon with a foster home, I do not want my in-laws to have to deal with him while we are visiting my relatives.

Took two of the four kids roller skating yesterday. Wow what a workout! We went with my sis and her two kids and everyone had a great time! I can't wait to go again, $5 per person included the old fashioned type of skate. Next time I am wearing better socks, I was lucky I did not blister but I was pretty close!

Taking the dogs to the farm today. I hope this rain lets up.

I am building another chicken plucker to sell.. I cleaned out my shop so I can actually see the floor again..

I located a hundred bales of oat straw, so I will be set for the winter in that department.. got a good price, too,, $2.oo/bale..

I built a greenhouse,, I still have to enclose the sides with plastic panels.. but I used it for my tomatoes and peppers and broccoli ,,
in the garden , I had the best carrot and beet crop ever.. and the beans were a great success, too..

Made a good trade for 8 young guineas, I got two quarts of ho made maple syrup,, and 2 twelve inch long sticks of ho made summer sausage .. Soooo, now I am going to go make some ho made pancakes ..
