Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good evening,

I agree , take the kids and head to England.. home school them there as best as you can.. over there, you can tell the people that they are on leave from the school here, and here what they don't know won't hurt them,,

make a deal with the kids that when they come back here, they will have to pick up where they left off, and they will be a year behind the kids they were in class with..

my puppies are pure breed Maremma .. the father and mother are not related.. I sent to Nebraska for the male 2 years ago.. had him flown into Madison and drove down there to pick him up..

the mother was born just a few miles from me,,

If you have a Maremma, you prolly got it from Peggy and Dan,, there are not many breeders in the state,, I know of only 3 ... One in Arpin, one somewhere in northern wisc and Peggy..
the next closest person is in northern Minn..

these dogs are self thinkers,, don't expect them to play chase the ball or catch a frizbie ..
they will most likely tell you to go pick it up yourself..

maybe they can be taught to play, but I never tried playing with mine..

The Dr told me that I am a heartbeat away from death if I get any sort of irregular heart beat.
my heart attack 7 years ago damaged my heart and I am at 32% on the heart scale.. it is not a clear 100% scale, so I am at about 50% good.. more or less..
I am having a defibrilator (sp) put in on the 24th of Feb,,
not looking for sympathy, just letting you all know what is going on.. somebody asked, or I wouldn't have mentioned it ..

Cute video, but I think the part about them not knowing where they came from is BS.

the dog ate the mom...lol

Jim...we are allowed to worry about you once in a while! Keep telling my mom that too! Just celebrated her 77th birthday this past weekend.
So far so good with the incubating project for science fair. Remind me again what humidity should look like at lock down? Broke down and candled last night ( I know..dont open the bator) but the foru lovely people who donated eggs for us, all said they questioned the cold weather and fertlitiy so I wanted to make sure that we were good. There were a few duds in there, but still have 16 good ones or so I think. The marans I dont even touch because i just cant tell...
Anyway...so far, so good!
Moved my egg eater out so we will see how laying is going. Had a decent day yesterday and now to see how today is.
Work is sending me to Orlando for a conference and we are trying to see if we can match up a disney vacation with that. Since hotel is already covered for almost the entire time we would be there and my airfare, that is half the cost right there. here is to hoping. Hubby would have the kids for two full days and two half days by himself, but it is the happiest place on earth..right?

otherwise my news is I am joining weight watchers here at work. We will see how it goes. Want to lose some weight, but I love food and am an emotional eater. I know that. I love cooking too...goes hand in hand doesnt it. So if you have a good healthy meat friendly (not giving up meat) receipe, please share. like I said, we will see how it goes. Work is paying for us to do WW... lets just hope I can stick with it for the 3 months.
have a great Thursday

Jim, we would be lost without you, thank you for full disclosure. We will be anticipating your full recovery and expect you to be at the Bash once again sleeping out of your truck.

Kristi, a good rule of thumb is to increase the amount of vegetables/fruit and decrease your 'brown food' consumption. Try for a rainbow on every plate!

DH is still sleeping. Poor guy, I let him sleep in whenever I can.

Not sure I will get my new coop....DH ran into my side mirror when he was putting his tractor in the garage. It is going to cost over $700 for a stupid mirror!!!

Lock down going well, thanks for all the advice, Jim. I need to go buy chick food today and get a brooder ready. We have a big one in the garage, but we only have 5 eggs in the bator so I will just rig up something in the house.
I did order some eggs from Michigan, they will be sent Monday. Hopefully I will get a chick or two from the 6 eggs. I have heard that Swedish Flower Hens have a low hatching rate anyway, so we will keep our fingers crossed.

NPIP is the National Poultry Improvement Plan.

The antigen is used with the birds blood to check for pullorum/salmonella and fowl typhoid disease.

After testing, you have your birds inspected by a State inspector and he/she looks over your coops, birds and your incubators.

Than you are on a regestry and other people can check to make sure your birds have been tested. You follow bio security measures to keep your birds as safe as you can and free from illness and disease. Your birds need to be tested and inspected anually.
They also offer free services like.... you can call the state vet. She can even come out to your farm and answer questions if she feels a need to do so. (I think she lives in Oosburg) classes..many other things. If you show your birds... and.... sell birds or eggs in the State of Wisconsin you ...must.. be NPIP and Farm registered and Inspected.

Wishing you all the best for your surgery! Will keep you in my prayers!

Dang Snow, enough is enough.

Good luck with the surgery Jim. I'm having my taxes done that day. I'll say a prayer for you and me!

I wonder if your tea finger will get stuck in the air after a long stay in England bbp? I'd hire a nanny for the kids and the animals....then you can party non-stop!

Where did the morning go? The fricken snow can just lay there till I'm good and ready.

bigz
