Nice Gusty Afternoon, Eh! Glad we just had the rain for the most part. The snow that did come down is piled anywhere out of the wind it could find a place.

Plenty of options for chicks in the Spring. Breeders will sell healthy chicks from proven stock that performs well in our area. Some real advantages with local chicks that are prolly more than day old chicks by the time you pick them up....plus most of us don't bother with less than the best available to us before we bother hatching more. just sayin...add our trying to improve the breed closer to the SOP, makes them hands down superior to hatchery stock. Plus it's reason to make the annual bash....a must event!

Darn near lost a window in the coop door today...dang wind ripped it from my gloved hand and slammed that sucker shut so hard I cringed thinking the glass was gonna break...lucky me today!

Cabin Fever getting worse here...I've never had it this bad before...what's a person to do?

I think we are all suffering cabin fever in the worst way this year, Bigz.

I know I am. After all that rain yesterday, our driveway is one huge, long ice rink.

Glad to see you back, Judge, and can't wait to see your finished kitchen when it is done. Very exciting!

Not much new here. DH & I saw an ad at the vet the other day so we went & picked up a new cat. Whoa Nellie, is she a big un! Our cat Junior is 19 lbs and she dwarfs him.

And the poor girl is only 5. But we'll be working on that. I'm sure Junior and his brothers will have her getting lots of exercise pretty soon.

hello all... nice to see a few new members,,,,,welcome....always nice to see the some of the old regulars checking in,,,, life does seem to get in the way sometimes keeping up can be a challenge.. I mentioned last year that I got 2 bee hives last spring... since i was gone 4 awhile thought I d give a little up date.... we havested 12 gallons of honey our first year.... thought that was pretty good....hope the bees made it through the winter.... pretty dang cold!!! Had a nice phone chat with Jim last week....{good luck with the surgery buddy } we had a lot of laughs I was kidden him about there not really being an Anne,,, you know the one he s always pretending to have around.... but I called him a couple of days after that.. and either JIm does a great impression of a very sweet women,,,, or,,,, he really does have a wife named Anne...either way,,, I had a real nice conversation with one of the nicest people I have never met. I hope to meet her sometime soon,,,, she was soooo nice,,, we chatted as if we were longtime friends,,, I love it when that happens She was so genuine n so sweet.... I m sure shes the reason Jim is such a character....Well all of this has nothin to do with chickens,,,, but things were getting a little slow on here tonight and i read all of your stuff! and I need to practice my typing......Gonna go get a ltl shuteye...I hope to do a ltl coop cleanin tomorrow,,,,, Hope you all have a great weekend Zeke

Yes Zeke Annie is not nearly as bad as Jim says...she is a doll! I am heading for some shuteye too...gotta work early tomorrow again. I hate working every day of the week....well, I guess I do have Tuesdays off...who has TUESDAY for a day off anyhow?

Closed up the girls after dark today and saw a blood spot on the floor. Didn't find a dead bird and didn't see anyone dripping, guess I'll try to figure it out in the daylight.

A while back, somebody posted a link for testing in maybe Madison. A friend who got one of pur bunnies at christmas time says he just died :'( she is thinking of sending him in. I can't find the link. And when I googe I can't find the info. Would the person that posted it mind reposting?

Its nice to have a day off...regardless if its during weekend or during the week. Today was that day!
Until the employee (again) failed to come to work. It used to tear us up to fire an employee......
getting to be a lot less painfull. Afterwards....time to take the tractor to the woods and cut more wood.
we are fortunate not to have deep snow...making easy access.

ok not the same I get it. Hey sure glad you weren't hurt too badly during your ride the other day. Kristip mentioned gathering at Cluck again, is 8:00 or 8:30 early enough that you can join us before work? I'd be fine with a Tuesday, just not sure who else could make it. Hope Tommy is still on the mend.

Judge-good to see you back, ahh remodeling .... swore we'd never do it again and we brought a foreclosure that needs a fare amount of work. Oh well that's what retirement is for. Enjoy that new kitchen, my favorite room to have done.

Sure nice to have sun again this morning, temps and ice aside it gives me a feeling spring really just might be around the corner ... a girl can hope right??
