Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good morning--I wanted to catch up before I went to work....we had a surprise party for my DD28 last night. It was really fun. I was skeptical about having it at her apartment for sure! I went there early to set up, clean and decorate. One of her friends from work came too. It is weird to see all her friends that came that brought babies along....my Girlfriends Grandaughter (3) had the best time playing in the circus tent that my daughter bought for one of the babies(who was terrified of it BTW!)

Now I have to head out and throw hay and then go to work for a few hours. *sigh* I kinda hate the weekends!

Good job on the hatches guys! Cuties those chicks are adorable! Does Blake just train with you guys and not show? He is still too young right? That lab that was posted needs a slip from a veterinarian along with the animal I believe. I took a parrot there and thought I would save the $$$ by delivering it myself...nope, they send the report to the vet's office and you have to make a appointment to "discuss" the results with the vet. Maybe it has changed...have your friend call to be sure.

Tommy is still gurgling a little but I think the Oxine is helping (thanks Deli)
All this incubator talk has me wanting to set mine up again...SSHHHHH! I have so many chickens running about here it isnt funny. I really need to do some butchering!
OK--off to work--have a great day everyone! TerriO

Gusty Sunday to everyone. Yep, different types of snowshoes work different depending on the snow conditions. I always break my own trail. It's all about the cardio workout....ain't suppose to be easy peasy. Try my ridge for a real heart attack trek.

Dang, cuties...shoulda gave me a holler...coulda met at the pigeon river brewing company for a pizza, beer, and bull session.

Lets make this the very last week of below normal temps for this Winter...all in favor say " I "...

Time to watch Bucks and Bulls archery show from point....channel 55-1

later..bigz

Afternoon All...Nice chick and puppy pics, looks like everyone has plenty going on, despite the longevity of our Winter here.

Thanks for posting the link again angiebubs. Did you get dumped on again, or did you luck out with a near miss this time?

Thanks for sharing the karma bl4. I have and use my military snowshoes. I know they just had or gonna have a snowshoe seminar at the Navarino wildlife area....you can rent snowshoes there..I think they sometimes do a night time shoe too!

The last of the apples were fed to the flock today. They really enjoy them during the Winter. I still have a lot of carrots left. Prolly ten lbs in the fridge and haven't even looked at the ones buried in the sand...25lbs for sure there yet. Never did them that way....hope they aren't soft etc...

Split pea and ham with home grown carrots and red potatoes tonight.

Have fun in the cold if you can. They had the annual fish derby today in town. I stayed home where it's warm. Had to be nasty on the pond with this wind we are having.

bigz

Big Z We were dumped on-the twin cities highways were covered in 1/2 in of ice. We were supposed to have Meghanns JDRF (diabetes) walk at Mall of AMerica that she looks forward to all year long-had to miss it for the first time in 7 years. We had about a foot of snow dumped on us.

Just wrote a book and my puter decided it needed to install some software update ARGH

I went into the coop this morning and my remaining roo Peekachu has a major bleeding head. I think it may be the tip of his comb but hard to see with the blood on him. He seems fine and sassy... Since hes the only Roo left, I dont think its from a fight and I cant see anyplace he could have gotten stuck or cut it. I cant put quik stop on it without getting it into his eyes. Should I try cornstarch? Or leave it for 30 mins and see if it stops and clots? Its weird as its the back of his head behind his comb that seems the most bloody...

I just went out with vetrimycin and cornstarch...picked him up and he was so calm while I sprayed on antibiotic spray, then sprinkled cornstarch on his (in his eyes back accident) comb, let me spread it around etc..without incident and it seemed to be stopping the bleeding. He was such a sweetheart about it too. (Lots of sprouts as a reward lol) Crossing my fingers.

Go figure that a storm would never just pass by this Winter without letting go! If you only have cornstarch and it's bleeding continues, I would try to stop it and at least see how serious it is. Good Luck!

CC...you ready for some racing?..Come on Boys lets have a good show today. Hoping #3 can have a good show seeing junior and Dale Sr wants the number to be used again.

We went snowshoeing on some property that we own that's a few miles from our house. It's 60 acres and the snowmobile trail cuts right through it. Well, they have been going off the trail, ripping around in the swamp, and I saw where 2 trees had been smashed into. So, a group of about 7 guys came by and were fooling around in the swamp. I'm sure it was quite the sight to see me running towards them in my pink snowshoes. They got a good lecture about private property and I told them when I decide to shut down that part of the trail next year they can blame themselves. The guy had a camera attached to his helmet. Sure hope it wasn't recording. I was about an hour into my outdoor fun, so no doubt there was snot hanging out at least one nostril.
