Yeah well,, do you have any idea of how much that set my image back ? It will take some time to regain my status,,
just a FYI , in my defense .... I did not name the goose.. It was named by somebody else.. I think they called it George after a well to do farmer from down the road.. just maybe to get his goat a little ??

at your advanced age I would guess that the farmers last name was,,,ummm,,

Washington!

GS and I got the puppies all squared away.. we will move them out tomorrow,, I want to make sure everything is working like it should ,, (heat) and besides, tonight it is supposed to do the below zero thing again.. I wouldn't want anything to go on the fritz tonight..
tomorrow we have to go pick up at least 6 bales of straw to really put a finishing touch on the shelter.

BTW, I did overdo it just a bit.. I am hurting, but I think it will pass.. after I get done resting I am going to make a batch of sloppy joes and some cowboy beans..

I have been busy for the past hour answering emails about the puppies, cockatiels and chickens..
people must be thawing out and starting to live again..

Dan, was that Jr or Sr ?

Ash Wednesday To Everyone. Thanks for the heads-up and the info bl4. St Peters is north of Clintonville about 5 miles...must be a kinda word of mouth semi-private function. Let me know how the food was. It's a small, in the country church. I use to park there and hunt rabbits in back. I was never inside...bet it is real nice, and the food goodie!

Something wild was caught by the suet feeders outside today while we were at Church. I need to walk past to get to the coops checking for eggs...feathers everywhere..prolly a dove I'm thinking. I also put prolly a gallon of corn there daily too. The redtail didn't let this one go, that's for sure.

I plowed here today...think I'll do Camp tomorrow late morning.

Hope you heal fast Jim....nothing worst than not being able to help with chores..even if they are a chore at times. Country folks are workers for sure.

Peace..bigz

HI everyone! Sorry that it has been so long. Hope you all are doing well!! I have some questions for you all. So I ordered chicks from a hatchery a month ago, and received them last week. We had 2 DOA and within two days we had only 6 out of 15 left. They would all be fine and then all of the sudden they would just act lethargic and die. So, the hatchery sent me replacements, which I received today, at the moment, out of the 35 we received 5 have died, 1 does not look good, and now two are acting like they have leg issues, which was not there this morning! I am at a loss of what to do anymore. We have raised chicks last spring and they all did wonderful. We did not change anything this time, except that the brooder is in the basement and not upstairs. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!!!

Per Murray McMurray - ~~For the first 2 days add 3 tablespoons of table sugar to each quart of water for extra energy

And it works! we had the same problem with our chicks until we started adding the sugar.
