Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Nice afternoon all...a little bird told me that there is no water in the ditches and everything is soaking in by Doc....thanks for asking bl4.

It's the same here..gonna be a gentle settle for sure this year.

I've been storing up the kittie litter in coffee cans this winter...gonna be dumping it tn the woods in the next few days...quite the collection I have....

We had a ton of trouble with the bobcats here...the DNR has no clue to how many bobs we have in the badger state.....I was on the phone for hours with biologists ...they are afraid of PETA....I'm not kidding one bit....who is paying them....consumers, tax payers, or PETA?

Jim, we moved the nest and the broody duckies. In the process we candled the eggs and they were either duds or stopped developing. So unless someone specifically asked me to hatch ducklings, I won't have any Pekin per se. Although I could separate all the Pekins and have them have a go at it. Right now with all the feed stores starting up with their chick sales I don't see a purpose in it though.
It is quite a haul from Wis Rapids up to Radisson. just for a couple of ducks..
I will let Tom know .
would you want to sell the adults you have ?

Nice win with the crossbow bbp. I've been doing a lot of research on them and have not made a decision on the brand yet, quite a few good ones on the market...I like free (raffle ticket) and would use it for sure....way to go! Let's see those harvest pics in the future.

Time to go lock up....The mourning doves are really singing love songs now....I love it!

Perfect way to end the day. Country style ribs on the grill, baked beans, cornbread in a skillet, sweet potatoes, and this....

My final listing was flagged on Madison craigslist.. what a bunch of crack pots down there.
BUT the good news,, they didn't get it in time.. I have a lady coming for Bo tomorrow..

he will be guarding a large flock of chickens..

If she decides that she can't handle Bo, she will take a puppy..

I don't care either way..

I like them all, but I can't keep all of them..

I would like to keep them.. wouldn't they make a nice looking dog sled team ?

I am going to try to get the goose to make her nest in the chicken coop.. we took her egg away from her.. after she lays a few more, we will give them all back to her..

Ok so time is coming closer that eggs will be hatching and I want to keep all my breeds straight, 4 in the first hatch. I will leg band them accordingly once they hatch. Will these work to hatch in? If not any suggestions? I don't have any baskets to use.

I only have two 1 yr olds and my special girl. My special (feet deformed) girl will stay forever since I saved her from a bad situation and going to be butchered. My pair, I'm not sure. SO doesn't wanna give them up. Lol. He got already too attached to my babies.

But, in the end, it would probably all come down to how much he was thinking of?

Jim, I still think those geese are goofy looking

I hope it was the lights too. Lol
Good morning all!
Man, ducks are so messy! I can't wait for hubby to get their own shed and pond built. He says as soon as the ground thaws. I think it will be a bit longer. As he is super busy at work. And doing more running with the kiddos with me working so late

We have our 4-h meeting tonight. And it is Sydneys turn for a demo! She is doing it on blue laced red wyandotte. She is very nervous. I hope she is able to talk

she will do great!!
Jim has a great idea

We all shot the crossbow today. My brother was even here to try it. All the guys loved it. Too bad its pink camo. http://www.parkerbows.com/crossbows.html?action=detail&detailsku=1126

Edited to say: Isn't my Iowa blue rooster (my avatar) a sexy beast?
he is a beauty

I will probably have an extra male or two

those will work and you can slip them in panty hose so they cant hop out after hatch.
