Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Cloudy, Rainy, FFF to everyone. No sun here today, and decided to just leave the birds in. They will be mad as heck for sure!

Went to town and picked up my fishing license...the Antigo potato guy was there selling 50lb bags of red norlands for $10....one can't buy seed, fertilizer, and plant them for that....heck, you don't have to hill or dig them, wash them and bag them. Good deal for sure!

Gonna fry fresh ocean perch tonight...we like them just fine...something different for a change.

Busy night tonight- 4-H and archery. Tomorrow's plan is to go to the swap in the morning, Petco in the afternoon and Admirals game at night. So, everyone have a great weekend!

Ok I need all of your help. My pekin Bailey is 10 days old she started to look bald on her rump and now she is blab by the back of her neck. No bugs are present and my mallard does not have any baldness. What could this be? Should I be worried?

Maybe upload a pic. It's hard to tell without seeing how it looks like bailey!

Guess we'll only have those two chicks. Still nothing in the others. One actually had water in it or something, so I know for sure that one's toast. And I picked some up, since SO read on BYC to put them in egg cartons for hatching, the bottom portions were cold to the touch. Will fight for not putting my ducklings in an egg carton for sure!!!

Might have a male and female chick. One dark, diamond on head and full eye stripe while the smaller noisy one is light, only partial eye stripe. We shall see how I did later down the road I guess... Unless anyone else have ideas on sex coloring on brown leghorns?!

Ok, so I'm not sure if any of you remember the time over the summer that a murderer ran through my yard and tossed the gun in our ravine? And the time before that when thieves ran through and the cop left his car running in our driveway to run after them? Well the police have the search light on at the house across the street. There is an older (70s) Christian couple that lives there and has a few boarders. The police are inside the house and are searching around the house. I hope they're ok!
The way you describe where you live make it sound so bad..Your community is so beautiful.

With out pictures it is hard to take a guess
At 10 days old she might be loosing her down and feathers might be starting. Or it could be mites. Most bugs are so tiny they are hard to see with the eye. As a precaution you might give her a nice dust bath in wood ash and keep her out of the water for that day.

So today from work I brought home a Buckeye with wryneck and a Rhode Island white with a smashed foot. I'm not sure how the hatchery managed to smash its foot, but you can tell its in a lot of pain. I should really put it out of its misery. If I decide not to, I'm not sure if I should splint it or not.
