Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good news!!! My dad was at an senior resource event today and ran into the Treasurer of Zion Council and he asked about my ordinance proposal and what was happening with it and that it seems to not be progressing. She said the man you want to talk with is over there. So my dad went over to this guy, mentioned me, the guy was VERY familiar with who I was and mentioned that the council had already agreed and approved the ordinance, but that it would take a little while to get it all on paper. SO, although it isn't official, my proposal for ordinance change to allow chickens & bees has passed!!!!!!!!

I hope they get around to it before the new council is established ..

Congratulations!! This is great news!

Cs, fingers crossed! And good luck on the hatch :)
Del, nice to hear from you again. Hope the rest of the hatch goes well!
Bbl4, we measured Brownie. According to the chart, he will grow only another two inches. Whih will put hom at 35. I was hoping for bigger!
We have been lunging every day. And then I do a short walk with the kids on him. Don't want to over do it. But he has been pretty mean with Blake lately. And I want to male surd I nip it I the bud right away.syd is helping with the lunging. Bit she is little and mostly gets in the way. But he thinks she is I charve. And it is making him behave much better.
I think peacocks are gorgeous. And I would love to have a pair. But have a friend that says they sit on her roof and make noise all night. Amd seems they adore roosting on vehicles. Enough reason for me to not own them atm.
I am on 8 hours this week. Absolutely love it!

Still no more hatchers. I'm thinking we are almost done. I'll wait until I don't see mom sitting at all. The 4 are healthy and bouncing around.

BTW- Today was Theo's 1st time being with the chickens alone all day (9am-4pm). He did well, all the chickens were alive and had their feathers!

which is a very high honor if you are one of the nieces or nephews in our family ..

Cooties , I followed most of that post, except " she is I charve "

Peacocks do make a nice call at about bedtime..
I never noticed the peahen making any loud noises..
but if DH says no, then you are out of the running anyhow..

You will need a looooong handle on that net ..

once they are mature, they are very easy to take care of..
they tend to avoid people, and none of mine were ever aggressive..

foxes seem to be the main predator..  IDK about anything else, because nothing comes into my yard..

.....did I mention that I have 208 chicken eggs in the bator..?  then I have no other news..

the guy with the peafowl is in Barron ..

H&R  knows more about peafowl than I do..

........jiminwisc........

Now that's simply SO not fair!
First we were eondering about getting peafowl and couldn't find anything under $75/bird plus I would have had to go all the way up to Duluth. NOW that we're not looking anymore (and don't have the money right now anymore either, of course!) you have to have a guy selling them for $35/bird and even close to me!!! GAH!!! I so don't like that...
