Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Hope everyone is staying warm and dry! It's pretty much a lazy day here of doing laundry and washing floors. We discovered we have an egg eater, so now for the fun part of figuring out who it is. I gathered 3 eggs this morning and there should be 4 more yet. We shall see...

Took just a couple mins to read up...25 posts and I am about 300 behind. Not gonna do it. One foster dog got adopted over the weekend-2 to go. I am getting a mamma and pups from AL in the beginning of May--maybe I will bring them to the bash...now THAT would be socialization!
Welcome to all the new folk...lots of names I dont recognize.
I had something else to say...CRS of course. Well--gotta run, back to work for me!

(PS) the eggs I incubated for the 1st graders at school are hatching...teacher wanted to know if she should "help" the button quail! I got the "Mr Impatient" was the duckling right Sam? That is how I read it first but Jim put doubts into my mine I am glad you werent the impatient one! LOL!

I think Terri or Judi brought GF pancake mix last year to the bash, Jim I can send you some links for recipes for GF mixes if you want. Just remember to bring your 25 lb sack of flour this year.

Do we need to bring extra griddles? I have two large ones if we need them.

Amy needs to report on here once in a while....... so does DrH, and a few others.

Yes we have a little camping get-together once a year. We have a big pot-luck on Saturday, a raffle, a White Elephant exchange, and sometimes we have a plant or bird swap. Bring the beverages of your choice, people tend to get a little thirsty by the campfire Friday night.....

Lazy day, spent the day lounging in bed with the kittens.

Thanks for the info on the bash. I kinda figured the big pot-luck would be Saturday, but good to have confirmation. We'll be headed to northern MI to visit friends, so once I line up "chick sitters" we'll leave here that Saturday morning, spend the day at the bash then continue on our merry way. Next year, we hope to bring the camper and spend the weekend - love a good campfire! Really looking forward to meeting everyone

Jim, I'm NOT cracking the shell or help the chicks out. I'm not THAT crazy to ruin my hard earned eggs that I had to wait SOOO long for to finally come to this stage!!!

Welcome WIcountry from me also! Also from me, how "country" do you live? Lol.

Wow. Everyone is planting so many trees. You all seem to have lots of acres, money and time to do all this! We have enough trees and brush/raspberry overgrowth that we have to decimate it every year before it takes US over. Lol.

Ducks standing outside in the rain quaking loudly as they see the chickens running loose and they all get to look down at the ever growing "pond" in the yard and won't let them go there! Too funny.

Yes, we're supposed to get snow/sleet AGAIN tomorrow. Just hope it is more sleet turning right away in rain than that yucky white stuff again. Especially since we're supposed to go up into the higher 50's again come this weekend. Roller coaster anyone?!
well, the way I read the post, someone was cracking shells..
excuse me, from now on I will mind my own business..
I wrote that hoping that you could show it to whomever and thus backing you up ..
sorry..

I put my eggs into lock down tonight!!!

and I am a true believe of no touch!!! Last year during my 2nd guinea egg hatch I helped out one of the last eggs to hatch, it was partially hatched, the membrane was becoming stuck to it so I thought I would help. It came out bloody and weak. I don't think it would have even hatched if I hadn't touched it, but then once I did help it, I felt it was my fault it died. I try to keep telling myself "survival of the fittest" so, I use the no touch policy from now on. (at least I will try)

Rainy Day To All.... nice to have this wet stuff on the newly planted trees.

I lost my place in time....so much going on in the days to come....sure hope I don't lose my place....then I will be trouble.

Yup. Was the egg. NOT Jim or anyone else, although I could title my SO with it too. Cuz HE is the one that always wants to help "the poor stuck little guy" out. Grrrr! I'm gonna chop his hands off if he does it again!
