Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

The rain held up here for a couple hours....I have the balance of the trees planted....

It's a good feeling with the forecast of all the rain coming.

I don't have the bator yet Jim, but I'll either post a pic or bring it to the bash for a close eye.

I'll make sure I make a point to pick it up from him. I figured I could always use it for a hatcher at the very least.

Raining here now...the venzun meatloaf with maters and cheese on top sure tastes good after a day of digging holes in the fresh air. The red wine makes a perfect wash.

Rainy, chilly evening

everyone, all 3 kids had soccer games today- both DS's games were at 1 field and DD had a game in Reedsburg so DH took her and I took the boys. Very windy at the field were I was but the rain held off- both teams won their games, DD ended up playing in the rain and her team also won! DS(9) and DD were suppose to have baseball and softball practice tonight but both got rained out......that's okay, we need a night just to relax. DS(12) and I are baking some cookies

.

With all the rain, we will be starting to cut grass here....probably by the end of the week if the rain stops!

Had to move some pens around on Sat to have enough space for the turkeys- they now have a 6' x 12' area which will hold them until fair time, that let us increase the pen size for DD's Blue Andalusian chicks and then we moved the FA doe and her babies to a bigger floor pen out of her regular cage- they seem to be having lots of fun. Into her cage went the 15 quail chicks that we picked up on Sat am.

Have a good one!

You read correctly,, there is a meet up of cheeshesds, it is on the last Friday of May until the first Sunday in June.. check TerriO thread ,(above) for the thread telling all about it..
This is an event you do not want to miss..
If you have any questions about it or anything else, just ask..
I know it is a long drive from Superior , but you can camp there , or bring a your bus or else sleep in the bunkhouse..

I throw a mattress into the back of my Blazer..

we have raffles that usually more than pay for the rent of the camp ground so overall cost is mostly the gas to get there..

the kids have fun, whether they like it or not .. and the adults stay up all night sitting around the fire pit ..

Hi! Thank you for the shout out. :) I camp up by hayward and spend most my summer there. :) Can I ask you where you buy your feed from?

We got L&M up here. Or F&F about 1.5 hrs southwest in Rice Lake. L&M has a better selection on bird food while u get better supplies at F&F.

Still looking for an adult female duck, preferably not Muscovy. Had to take our boy back inside. He is calming down now again. And, the baby ducklings got their first bath. Lol. Too funny the way they raced and dived through the water under their siblings!

Still pouring here. Sometimes w hear rumble but that's about it. Just turns everything here right back into a mud pit. No like.

Maybe more later. Hope it's drier where you are!

Can't take roos here either, sorry.

Didn't start raining until around 7:30pm tonight otherwise it was a 45 degree day with cold wind out on the soccer field.

Theo is teething, so chewing on many things. A stick makes a great substitute teething ring.

Jim- I know that many people will like GF pancakes, I don't know anything about them. I loved your pancakes last year!!!!!!! Are you planning to make both?

Oh cool! :) I had pretty much given up on forums because I never have anyone near my area to connect to. I used to live in Superior until a couple years ago. We bought a house outside of Nebagamon so I could have my garden near the house and we could get some chickens. The snow finally melted off my garden bed and my DH is planning a shelter for the guineas and turkeys we got this year.

I don't know anyone else except for the lady across the road from me that has chickens. One of my friends used to have chickens but it was before I got mine.

Last weekend we drove down to Rice Lake and stopped by Blain's for chicken supplies. Feed was on sale and we stocked up. Otherwise we go to Hayward and get supplies. About every six weeks we make the drive down to Rice Lake and grocery shop at the three grocery stores. My DH and I are in awe of the grocery prices down there.

I think Terri or Judi brought GF pancake mix last year to the bash, Jim I can send you some links for recipes for GF mixes if you want. Just remember to bring your 25 lb sack of flour this year.

Do we need to bring extra griddles? I have two large ones if we need them.

Amy needs to report on here once in a while....... so does DrH, and a few others.

Yes we have a little camping get-together once a year. We have a big pot-luck on Saturday, a raffle, a White Elephant exchange, and sometimes we have a plant or bird swap. Bring the beverages of your choice, people tend to get a little thirsty by the campfire Friday night.....

Lazy day, spent the day lounging in bed with the kittens.

Hi, stopping in early....

Amn & Wild..... I have relatives scattered all around up there! I was shocked the last time I went through Grandview, it doubled in size! They added a street! LOL Good or bad you probably know some of my relatives. I haven't seen my cousins in years though.

Seems my Aunt and Uncle had a falling out with my grandparents over some land. Anyway, I love it up there and would love to get up there more often.
