where is everybody ? boycotting ?? let me in on it .....

I went to F&F and exchanged my hose for a new one.. I have the tractor all back together , and still nobody here yet ?

the sun is shining, but that doesn't mean that it still cannot rain.. I had to come indoors to stay dry .
I have to make 2 hatching trays with covers for the old bator that I am going to use for a hatcher..

I think I have some hardware cloth somewhere out there ..

Just busy!! watching the chicks hatch . - I've had 3 hatch, 1 zipped and 3 pip. With 12 more to go.
and painting my daughters room - She'll be finishing up college from home... she hasn't lived here in 4 years... what a change that will be.

Yay on getting the tractor all back together!! Can't do without that. :)

Didn't I see some pictures of yours where you have coop areas off the ground? where you used hardware cloth or something, so no bedding needed and everything falls through? What size hardware cloth did you put down (I'm assuming there's different sizes)... or did you use something less flexible?

Late afternoon, kids had soccer games all day today and a few tomorrow plus baseball/softball practice.....so much for getting caught up on stuff around the house!

looks like everyone else is busy as well, was a nice day for sure here.

Off to get chores done and figure out something to eat.

Yup same here. Didn't look like it at first here, but not a single drop of rain here today! And sunshine warm enough to run around in tshirt and thin shorter pants!!!

First had to make a fire again in the stove as it had gone out and it was a bit chilly in the house. With newly hatched babies not such a good thing. Then breakfast, getting feed and car parts (timing and balancing belts, rotor, cap and wires), and at last a couple of well needed groceries. Now we're totally broke, not even anything left for another emergency (fingers crossed). Oh well.
Then getting back home and the brat (son) was already back from first week of trucking school. Asked him to get some wood in and move the cars for better driveway access (we barely managed to get in over the muddy grass) but of course he didn't move at all but to get himself some of those groceries and drink. Just great. Luckily he leaves tomorrow again for the rest of schooling and then going OTR. can I get a YESSS?!

Then feeding the critters and getting my swimming babies in their enclosure again. Obviously the brat didn't even give the new babies any much needed water or food although they were complaining loudly. Tv is more important...

So, now outside again and helping to fix the car at least til the daylight is gone. Then get a bit of firewood over to stay warm over night and hopefully relax a bit. Watching the meanwhile GROWING babies play and cuddle with them a bit. Oh yes, I think spring is finally here! Woot!

We were at State Solo and Ensemble today in Stevens Point. Oldest DD was there with the Wind Ensemble. I will let you know how they did when I know, we left right after they were finished.

It is a pizza night here.......

We integrated so.e chicks to the coop today. It went quite well :) I always get nervous when doing that! We had to help them back in for bed time. Bit they are already roosting with the big chickies. And seem content. I hope they get the hang of going ooutside for water quickly! And that the hawks stay away!
The neighbors are dumping rotten fish guts by the corner of our fence again. The dogs stay home until they kn ow they can eat and roll in it. YUCK !! We have garbage pick up for a reason!
Had a wonderful warm day here. I hope you all did too.
The kitten is getti g along nicely. And eyes are open. We habe decided on Tiny for a name. As it is not gender specific, and very fitting.
Lucy the puppy is very obsessed with our one baby duckling. She has snagged him (we think him) numerous times. He always comes out of it ok. I thought she would treat the little chicks the same. Bit she just ignores them. I am glad. But a bit flabbergasted lol
Enjoying a snack & Tom n Jerry.

It was a busy day here with soccer and birthday parties, mowing lawn and working in the chickies and bees. Say...prett sure my 9 week old lavender orp is a roo too. So that is 3 Roos of 5 now...sigh. Need a roo anyone? I know i am not alone either. Hope Sunday is a good one, we are off to help mom with honey do list tomorrow

Pretty good day. Sold 20 chicks today (13 prod chicks and 7 EE) and took on hatching 4 dozen for the same person. I told him .75 per live chick. Does thatsound fair? I've never done it before so I figured half of what I sell my cheapest chick for.

Finished building another incubator hatcher lastnight and the numbers are holding steady since. I wasn't thinking clearly with so many staggered when i put the Hova guts in the other home made that I had nowhere to hatch my next batch without messing up the humidity. I have 20 eggs in lock down right now on day 19. 6 BLRW, 5 SS, and 9 EE. I had been having temps problems over the last 2 days as I cleaned out the room the chickens are in and moved everything around. Somehow must of bumped something and had a spike to 108 then after adjusting it was down to 85. I have it stable now and candled eggs lastnight & tonight and all are alive thankfully. If any hatch it will be a miracle.

Spent most of the day cleaning up yard and house. So busy didn't get time to work on the skid steer like I planned. Being the first nice day in over a week so many other things were needed to get done first. Maybe tomorrow if I'm lucky.

I also forgot to mention with all of this kitty talk. My daughters long haired Siamese mix is due to pop here any day with kittens from our big poly male, so will be having kittens in the next few months to find new homes. I'm hoping for a poly Siamese to replace my Seymour who passed last fall, but her last litter 3 years ago had no Siamese colored kittens. I can be hopeful this time.
