Unk, our school has 5 million sitting in a fund for 'rainy day' expenses. Instead of fixing things around the school (I have a laundry list of examples), they are saving that $ for a fitness center we do not need and cannot afford. They have chosen to forgo replacing a Science teacher who left last year, their reason? No interest in the position. Hard to have interest in a job if you never post it. My thought is they are going to use the salary the science teacher would have gotten and use it for the salary of the person who has to run the imaginary fitness center. The school lunch is run through the school, not an outside source. There is a notification system in place, but it is not reliable. My choice to improve the system? Hire people who have been trained to cook in an industrial setting and quit wasting $ on all the flash frozen junk!
If people took the time to sit through their local school board meetings, they would see where their tax dollars are being spent. The lack of funding for classrooms is not due to a shortage from the state, it is due to inept individuals flushing that money down the drain with wasteful spending.
