Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I would think DN Campground north of Amery would probably be much cheaper than Wapo.

JayYoung: Hmm Good tip! "DN Campground" stands for "Do Nothing" LOL. They have a bar on site, flush toilets & showers, and allow pets! We should definitely look into this further asap! (fee looks a little high but maybe a group discount?) THANK YOU!

Curious what people would expect/want to pay per night for camping?

Quote: Yes it is, but if you come from the inner cities, you really appreciate sleeping amongst the trees.Maybe your kids don't, but there are always the transplanted rural people who miss the great outdoors..

early fall , the campgrounds clear out, and then you should be able to negotiate.. however, that is when the kids are heading back to school, and it is too hectic to try to camp with them..

I lived at Indian Shores just East of Minocqua one whole summer.. when Sept came around, let me tell you did it ever get quiet there.. Just a few old people enjoying the serenity ..

but our bashes would be quite boring without the kids there..

and the cheesehead kids are the best ..

Yay! My Catalpa tree is alive!!!! There are a few leaf buds on the trunk, nothing on the branches though yet.

it will eventually leaf out!

Raim, glad to hear your DD is feeling better. Poor baby.

Time to get the tent up so it can dry out.

time for a break, just transferred chicks to the tv's. eggs to the hatcher..

lots of pips ..

I have quite a few colored chicks outside in the brooder.. will have to catch them and sell them to Pang..

have a guy coming after 5 to pick up the last 4 guineas, however, there are 60 guinea eggs due tomorrow, and a couple of them have already hatched and more are pipped..

from now on I am giving guinea eggs 26 days instead of 28.. there are always early ones..

the incubators are emptying out nicely.. from now on it will not be so hectic ..

am waiting on 105 turkey eggs and a few duck eggs.. but they are a couple of weeks to go..

there are 2 guineas on a nest , will snatch their eggs and add them to the rhubarb eggs.
Annie said there are at least 24 eggs under the guineas alone.. I have a tray that will hold 60 eggs.. would like to fill it again..

I am thinking I might hold the chicks and guineas until they are beyond brooder age.. then charging $5.oo/each.. maybe by that age we can tell the hens from the roos.. at least with the chickens, that is..

Annie just sold all the eggs we had in the friidge.. what a day,, and I didn't even have breakfast yet..

........jiminwisc.......

Jim how much were you getting for the younger guineas? Age sold? I know they can be a bit fragile and newbies might not keep them warm enough.
How many adult guineas do of you have? Just curios. That would give me an idea of how many eggs I have hidden someplace. Have not found one nest yet. But then again I haven't been looking very hard.lol

Planted my tomatoes today, each plant had a DOA turkey egg planted with it for an extra fertilizer boost.

I need my crew to come home so this house gets cleaned up......

My FIL used to be part owner of that campground. Maybe I can get done kind of special deal :)

good afternoon,, I just came home .. there a lot of new faces in the hatcher.. guineas and chicks..

Sandi, I have been getting $4.oo/each for the baby guineas up to a week old.. after 2 weeks, the price goes up .50 cents for each additional week..

I have somewhere between 25 and 35 adult guineas.. 24 locked up and the ones I can't get a good count on free ranging..
I put the roosters on C L for $10.oo/each

I have lots of males.. I know that I do have at least 7 hens..

only 7 eggs in the rhubarb patch,, the buggars moved their nest again..

Hey friends...looking for my bee experts.. would you say in a new hive that these are drone babys and I might need a new queen...it has beensuggested that might be an
